"The Jets need a new Quarterback"

Professional sports should never be priority over more real things that matter. Especially in this age where we aren't spoiled for many avenues of entertainment, as is.

LOL...well played.

"The Jets need a new Quarterback"
"The Jets need a new Quarterback"
"The Jets need a new Quarterback"
...

I have no idea what this trend of professional sports rebuttals on a lot of Internet forums and message boards now to much more serious issues that are just disliked or "annoying," to the other poster, and congratulatory posts of them by others, but they seem to be one of those trends of vapid, braindead, and herd-mentality thinking that marks people showing derision for others views, but whose views obviously and TRULY scream out for derision, instead.

The accusations of foul play emerge because it is not entirely clear that each candidate dropping out was a choice as that they, as rational actors, made in isolation. There was very likely to have been pressure exerted by the Democratic Party leadership to engineer a consensus around Biden.

Even if there was "pressure exerted by the Democratic Party leadership," of which there is little evidence that I can see, how is that "foul play" in any sense?

Manipulative and tactical quote cropping - Fox News style.

Would you please try to contribute something to the topic so I can shoot it down cold and at least give you a shred of validity to weave into your constant complaining about me?

The example given refers to Jets fans perpetually screaming that their team needs a new quarterback (kind of like how you perpetually scream that the US needs a new government) while the team is fully aware that they need a new quarterback (kind of like how the whole forum here is well aware that the US government is mostly crap) but those fans have no idea how to pull a quarterback out of their butt (similarity goes without saying) and their constant drone amounts to nothing but annoyance (again, similarity goes without saying).

Biden has a +5 on Trump, at this time in 2016 Hillary had a +7 so we're doing even worse

Also, the electoral college doesn't care about popular vote, so the margin is less important than where it's coming from.

also to dispel Tim's illusions, there is only a 2% disapproval rate for Trump's handling of the coronavirus while something like 60% are gung-ho for jingoism, blaming China and nobody else.

Please cite the illusions being dispelled.

You said trumpets will lose faith in Dear Leader

the problem is that such an event requires them to be something else than mindless cultists

The half the country that isn't on lockdown thinks it's a hoax. It'll take a while before we can say for sure whether people approve of his handling.

Yes, but it works a Hell of a lot better when you have a multi-party level of choice, not the wretched Duopoly...
Does that yield results any different from the United States? Power shifts between center-right and center-left, with the left and right serving as supporting parties in a de facto or de jure coalition.

I did. I also said that at the moment of crisis there is always a spike in approval. I even explained the mechanism by which it works, and the mechanism that always causes massive erosion, hence it is a spike. The remarkable thing about this spike is how low it is. GWBush spiked to 90%, and it seemed like at the time he had way more than 10% disapproval baked in.

But I don't see why I'm going over this again, since really the only person among the "Tim is wrong at all costs because I hate Biden" crowd that I thought would at least read for content was you. I knew the rest wouldn't, and apparently you didn't. <shrug> Maybe you will this time.

lol, this presidential race is so entertaining

Apparently Biden's teleprompter broke...I dont know why they didn't just record another take and show it

its like the director of Penny's killer ape movie was in charge

This. Things also trend towards the center.

Sanders probably couldn't win in NZ. He would have the choice of supporting a left wing party in a coalition or having the centrist party supporting the center right if he got to demanding.

A mess...

Teleprompter reading + teleprompter choreography is the #1 criterion for choosing a POTUS?... or its somewhat important?... or not that important?... to you personally (the royal you) ... that's the question.

Why is the world suddenly, in less than two decades, full of a seeming majority of literal, linear, very short-term thinkers? It wasn't always this way, and it's very stultifying to carry on an attempt at discourse meant to be productive outside of tiny, separate boxes of isolated relevance. It seems to be a symptom of a slow-acting socio-political mass poison...
