News to me. We're up the ass of everybody. But it's sometimes sexist and other times it's just standard old shitbaggery. These are people in the halls of power. Oh boo hoo.

We have a vice-craphead that gets guff because he avoids situations that are rife for sexual abuse or misunderstanding. That's apparently sexist too. Let's bewail the cruel fate of the inept vice-craphead and the killbot prosecutor.

To Pence's credit I haven't heard even a rumour about his personal life and I won't criticise him for that, plenty enough about his politics to criticise.

My understanding is that Kuwait was "slant-drilling" Iraq's oil and Saddam was attempting to "annex" them to reclaim the stolen oil.
Iraq made up that silly claim because it racked up huge war debts to Kuwait in its ultimately fruitless 1980-88 war with Iran.

He doesn't have one. If he did it would be a sin.

No, the claim long predates the Iran-Iraq War. Your lack of knowledge or understanding of the true underlying and simmering causes and unresolved issues from Middle Eastern history on the modern struggles of the region from before the period where the U.S. and USSR started their Imperialistic meddling and made a volatile situation far worse and led to the CREATION of Islamist Terrorism as a phenomenon in response to it (a phenomenon that didn't previously exist at all in Islamic history) doesn't mean that that history and it's ramifications are magically irrelevated.

You're buying into the claim that Pence is actually a Christian, practicing the Ministry of Christ and the Apostles, and sincerely trying to follow the Path to Salvation. Trump bought into that claim, too, as is evident in his self-admitted reason for tapping him as his running mate.

There's ways to deal with disputes like that without sending your troops over the border.

Hell he had 6 months to pull out and had plenty of chances.

If that is so true, Iraq did little to press the issue until such time as Iraq was $15 billion on the hook to the Emir of Kuwait.

30 years on, and the slant-drilling claim has yet to be substantiated. Perhaps Saddam Hussein lied? Maybe I don't have the moral reach to make such an accusation against Saddam Hussein.

The Republic of Ireland had claimed, even as a statement in an article in it's Constitution, Northern Ireland as an integral part of it's natural territory and jurisdiction from 1949 until the Good Friday Agreement in 2008. Is the lack of dedicated and aggressive pushing of the issue by the Irish Government (NOT the Northern Irish political party Sinn Fein or the various IRA terrorist and insurgent groups, but the Government in Dublin) a sign that the claim was actually bunk and not there and not a significant thing simmering in the background. It's a similar situation with Iraq and Kuwait, whether or not you accept that or actually know that or not.

Except northern Ireland has Irish in it.

Iraq never existed as a country and was made up of three. Ottoman provinces.

Hence Kurd, Shiite, Sunni areas.

If Ireland was dumb enough to invade Northern Ireland wouldn't be to hard to guess what would happen.

@Patine, the Irish claim has a bit more substance to it; the Union Jack flying over Belfast is a bit more concretely established than the hysterical Iraqi claim which so conveniently became an emergency after Iraq was heavily indebted while further injured by the 1980’s oil glut.

Iraq lied, used its lie as a casus belli against the Kuwaitis, and tried to skirt their obligations by simply obliterating Kuwait as a sovereign entity.

And I'm not at all saying Saddam Hussein is good leader whose at all praiseworthy or has a higher ground. But when compared to the absolute, theocratic monarchs of the Arabian Peninsula and George H.W. Bush, who had been a former leader of the world's biggest, most prolific, and best funded terrorist organization (the CIA), and the soulless, sociopathic engines of evil that were the resource corporations who wanted a war fought to keep the price of oil stable, is there truly ANY real higher ground POSSIBLE?

Meanwhile Trump is literally trying to steal the election on trucks

And he has removed over 500 mail sorting machines from big city Post Offices.

How ironic, Harris was running slave labor camps while enforcing Joe Biden's drug war

I love how Kamala Harris attacked Joe Biden for being this terrible racist bigoted person during the primaries, but she's perfectly happy to vice president for him and support his presidency, you can't make these things up!

When will new polls be out?

I think Biden can win, despite the obviously not good choice of VP. And I hope he does win, Trump has to gtfo yesterday.

Although maybe it will be for nothing even if he wins - assuming that the choice of VP reveals Biden is just a suit for others in the party to control. Still worth it to get rid of Trump, I guess.
