I don't. They always have somebody to smear. When patine is gone, they start working down their list of cultural undesirables. I don't like the little ****s enough to shine my shoes put on lipstick. You haven't poofed for a month before. You'll get me eventually, too and yes, they love the gravy.

The rest of the world doesn't get a vote though.

As always, I suspect the "prefer not to answer" group are mostly just shy Trump supporters.

Also hilarious that Russia is the only country Trump wins outright. Puts the "Russia hoax!" defense in perspective.

I mean there's a fairly smooth trend with the most right wing or conservative countries having the higher Trump lean

Berz, c'mon... No. Global warming is good for us? Seriously?:dubious:

In small amounts, in aggregate, it might be. This assumes no runaway effect. This ignores the justice aspect (infra) and also is ignoring risk analysis, though.

The people causing the change will not compensate those who didn't want the change. And the people benefitting from the change will not compensate the losers.

If I spread manure all over your cornfield mid-summer, damaging your harvest potential, and then bought your field after your bankruptcy to grow pulses on the rich soil then 'in aggregate' there might be more food in the long run.

But the victim of the action loses out.

Just like your right to swing your fist ends at my nose, your right to raise the sea level ends at my shoreline.

I think I should be allowed to pee on people's flower garden if they don't believe in AGW justice. It's fertilizing their soil, making it better for carrots, after all.

Ask the average American what Swedish drug policy is. Will they know?

Ask the average American what the corporate tax rate is in Italy. Will they know?

Why then should I expect someone in Belgium or Spain to know even the slightest bit about American political issues beyond tiny bits of trivia that may not even be true?

“America is the world’s most powerful country so many people know about XYZ issues.” Pfft, puh-lease.

Look at this country, Japan. Oh, they wouldn’t vote for Trump? They find his views appalling? Let’s see how many illegal immigrants can file for welfare here. It’s very easy to pick someone in a fake poll when you don’t have information or experience.

Would anyone from Europe or Canada here like to pick my brain about their domestic issues?

I was thinking more flag waving jumping jacks with the helicopter, but...

The new fancy ones, sure.

Berz, c'mon... No. Global warming is good for us? Seriously?:dubious:

First off, global warming means loss of glacial ice, which means rising sea levels which means loss of habitat, drinking water and arable land, right? Second, global warming means that deserts and dry spots will expand, decreasing arable land, right?

I mean maybe the case could be made that retreating cold zones means that land which was previously tundra becomes temperate, theoretically increasing arable land, but that also means loss of habitat for the species that live there, but there is another problem... thawing tundra releases deadly diseases like anthrax as the frozen carcasses of dead animals like caribou begin to thaw. As an aside... tundra thawing doesn't do much of anything for us in the US anyway, besides maybe Alaska, and I don't see us moving our breadbasket up there. Canada and Russia might benefit, but all we get is a bunch of dust bowls.

A related thing worth mentioning is something I saw in a NETFLIX documentary series called "Connected". One episode showed how the Amazon rainforest is actually dependent on a steady stream of tens of thousands of tons dust blowing in across the Atlantic from the Sahara desert. Without it, the erosion from the constant rainfall and extensive waterways would make plant life unsustainable, killing the Amazon and essentially turning it into a swamp rather than a jungle. So ironically, apparently even if global warming did somehow make the Sahara fertile, all that would accomplish is killing the Amazon in the process. They didn't go that far into it, but it was very interesting and worth a watch.

Global Warming will, according to the IPCC report I read - 2018, 2019 - absolutely dry up the SouthWest. Texas, NM, AZ, Cali are forked. The aquifiers will dry up. However, rainfall and the like will keep the North America writ large sort of competitive and increase some yields. So in that sense for the 21st century, Global Warming will be 'good' in the sense that the USA will still be a major food grower and exporter, and all the power that entails. Oh sure the SW will be messed up, Greek Name hurricanes will come yearly, but that's a small price to pay compared to what's going to happen in the Tropics, Sub-tropics. Because America can squeeze by and cement more power to itself by food politics. That's the only sense it'll be 'good'. Oh and those darn-doggamned coastal elites will be flooded more and more. Greattttt.

White House Declares Pandemic Over As It Cites Renowned Scientist Ivanka Trump
The president’s daughter, of course, has no training or background as a scientific expert.

It's a pretty sucky hitpiece. The report itself says nothing about the pandemic being over, just efforts to combat. "Ending the pandemic" in this context would be the goal - though it's a bad headline on their part. But mainly because it makes fodder for hitpieces. And the Ivanka quote is just that pretty text that all reports have, and isn't in the context of the pandemic.

Gods, I hate bad reporting. The hint we got from so many years ago, if something seems truly terrible, it's probably not but just spun that way. This is a report put out by bureaucrats, it's going to be pretty useful, if self-congratulatory.
