The Houston Texans select with the first overall choice in the 2006 NFL draft: D'Brickashaw Ferguson - Left Tackle - University of Virginia

Nice pick once again, couldnt have done it better myself ;)

Ya know what, I forgot to put the reason behind the selection down:

Passed on Bush because we feel that he can only be a back that carry about 250 touches a season, which isn't anywhere near the production that should be expected out of the first overall pick. Ferguson gives us a bookend tackle to protect our other top overall pick (who has been sacked more times than we'd care to think about!).

I only hope that Carr can produce with protection. I'm glad I'm not the GM betting my career on him... Having Bush as a safety valve would also act as protection of sorts because the rush would have to slow down a step to see where he was headed.

I'd rather bet on Carr with protection than a small back who hasn't proven he can run inside (which won't help when you've got the worst line in the NFL).

Phil Savage of the Browns has already come out and said he doesn't think Bush is good enough to be an everydown back. Also, the Chargers GM, Seahawks, Dolphins, Bucs, and all those other teams that are solid at the running back position.

It'd be a nice luxury for a team with an everyday back to have Bush in the slot or on 3rd downs! I feel sorry for the Texans... They can't win no matter who they take.

I think they can win if they take Ferguson. It might be the chic pick to take Bush, but whoever does is going to regret it (especially having to pay a 3rd down back what Bush will command).

AlCosta isn't running the Saints so it's time to make an announcement that the Saints are actively seeking trade offers.

I'll keep the Saints if neccesary.
If them, I would like to trade down to pick number 3-5.
If no trade available, my top three would be
1.Mario Williams, DE N.C. State
2.Reggie Bush, HB USC
3.A.J. Hawk, LB OSU

Mario Williams? hmm, Will Smith and Charles Grant won't like that pick:) (note: they are both first round choices of the saints taken recently)
