2nd Run NFL Mock Draft Thread

You wouldnt draft a de/linebacker tweener with the second overall pick though. Do the Saints run a 4-3 or 3-4?

The Saints run a 4-3. I'd have to agree with Azale on drafting a tweener with the 2nd overall. If you want a linebacker go with Hawk, he's worthy of the second pick. I'm going to see if i can't pull up Mario's 40 time from the combine real quick.

Alright, no way this guy can convert to linebacker--he's 295 lbs and runs a 4.66. Nor should anyone ever consider moving a guy like this to linebacker...it is a waste of talent and has trouble written all over it.

Just a thought, is this meant to be a mock draft of who is likely to get picked, or a mock of draft of who should be picked? If the texans decide they want ferguson, I doubt they'll take him at 1, they'll trade down instead. And I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Williams go at 2 to the saints, if they're unable to find somebody to move up for bush/ferguson/leinart.

I think it's a draft of what the CFC experts would do if we were GMs. Maybe, it's my first time and we seem to have gone way beyond the time limit on the 2nd pick. :p

Since AlCosta has posted his pick for them yesterday, it looks like the Saints take Mario Williams.

In which case the Titans agonise for a while about Matt Leinart v Reggie Bush v Vince Young, with the scales eventually tipping in favour of Leinart, due to the connection with Norm Chow, more faith in Chris Brown's ability to be a starter than in Billy Volek's, and the fact that running backs look easier to find via free agency and/or draft than quality quarterbacks do, meaning a long term QB makes more sense than a long term RB. Leinart pips Young as he is less of a gamble, will be ready to play earlier, a better passer, and our offensie co-ordinator likes him a whole lot.

Jets are up, who owns them, and how happy will they be if they get either Leinart to replace Pennington, or Bush to replace Martin?

I disagree, if they want Ferguson, they have to take him here. If they don't the Saints will grab him at the two position. Unlike what AlCosta did and most Mock Drafts, the Saints don't need a DE nor would they waste thier first pick on one. They just picked Will Smith in 04 and Charles Grant in 02 in the first round and are happy with them. Ferguson is the most logical pick for them (unless they want to take Hawk, but that's unlikely).

The Jets are owned by Zarn and woodelf, you also have the 26th pick (Bears).

So Titans took Leinart or Young? Leinart right?

Just to add, for the team you are picking for, do what you think is best for that team (or else the Lions GM is going to have to pick a WR!!). I figure the same applies to the Texans, they may have an incompetant GM in Casserly (I'll take that back if they do actually take Ferguson), but Ferguson is the Best Player Available at the first pick and fills a huge need for them, so I pass on 3rd down Bush.

2 owners? How many teams have zero owners right now?

No, Zarn owns the Jets. I was saying that you had the Bears with the 26th pick. OI

Ah, okay. So I have a butt load of picks. ;)

The Packers, Lions, Eagles, and Bears all donate their picks to the San Francisco 49ers!!!!

Imagine the salary cap hell from five 1st rounders.

They should go with Vince Young. Reggie Bush is awesome and all, but considering this team is going nowhere and is rather old...taking a QB who will take about 2 years to really develop, is probably the best bet.

This team frustrates the hell out of me in Madden. Your just starting to do good and Pennington goes down with an injury, leaving you with Fiedler or Bollinger to fill in. Bleh. That happened to me in 3 straight games until he finally went out for the season :p

Any deals between teams with the same owner need to be approved by the commisioners office (Me). So no, the deal is not approved:)

They did just trade a 6th rounder for Patrick Ramsey today. That should give them decent insurance against another Pennington injury. But with the cap hell they are in, they are probably better off trading down and maybe picking up another 1st for next year. But if they had to stick it out, i'd go with either Hawk or Williams (if they do trade Abraham). Actually I take that back, If I were the jets GM and Bush was there, I'd take him...I value my life.

Yea, I was just about to mention the Ramsey trade....

So the obvious choice in a scenario like this is Bush.
