Any reason my city default focus looks like this? Good tiles being unworked, and lots of laborers who are only producing 1 production and 2 gold each, while I've got plenty of open specialist slots, and the specialists are quite buffed.

I guess it's telling me not to be lazy and let AI manage my cities...

You pretty much have to manually work your specialists in this version.

At least it looks like you are doing well. Over 300+ food and only a 5 of 36 workers working any tiles itself. How did your yields get so high with so many unemployed workers? Maybe I can learn something new.

Looks somewhat normal to me. I think I made everyone in the city "unemployed" and only worked the core and that was enough to sustain food growth and keep starvation away for 6 pops. So one foodie per about six pops unless you are stuck with horrible yield tiles. That said yields would be a lot better for the city of those people actually worked tiles.

So did you chose to make them unemployed or did they get assigned their by the governor? Manually assigning specialists is one thing but I don't understand why the normal tiles are not getting assigned by the system. Don't think I have seen that happen. I see them make horrible horrible choices on what tiles to work when there are clearly even tiles that give basic more yields of the same type (usually food/hammer tiles) without even going into the tiles with gold, culture and faith and such.

So overall yes it's just so much better not to let the AI decide which tiles to work and what specialist tiles to work. In the late late game tho I might not care as much. Then I sort of let it work whatever unless I really want to achieve something specific.

Seeing a minor issue, not sure if it is a bug: in demographics it shows me at 6/8 in military ranking, and Austria at first (I'm at 200k, she's at 280k). But if I look at her war summary icon (the little crossing swords at the bottom left of a leader icon when you are at war with them), it says that her military is 'very weak'. Further, when I enter her diplomacy screen, she often says something along the liens of "we are afraid of your vast military might".

Has anyone else seen this as well?

Yes, I see this also

I have the same issue regularly in this version when selecting default governor.

I think there is a difficulty scaling thing that applies to this?

I also encounter my governor seemingly not working tiles/specialists as well as they should. I know auto governor won't replace the micro of a well versed player manually working things, but on Prince it seems like it should have a somewhat better calculation of what is best.

Well. I don't know why, but I never saw anything similar in my games. Automatic works well, and maybe better than I could do myself.
I'll add some screenshots from my current game, with all the different focusses set(except "faith", which didn't show anything new)
(Usually I set specialist control to manual, but automatic control for this example)default.png food.png prod.png gold.png science.png cult.png GP.png

Automatic maximizes any focussed yield, as intended.

Btw, my first thought on the picture in OP was "Do celtic laborers gain faith as well, and is focus set to faith?" Because this is exactly the picture I'd expect to see in that case.

It only happens if you auto specialists.
Oh, I'm glad I stopped that lately... Maybe OP is right, someone is telling us not to be too lazy...? :)
edit1: But, it does not always happen, at least not instantly, because I made the screenshots above with auto control.

edit2: Just to complete the series...
T217 Same situation as before; T218 One specialist less: A tile improvement has been completed and gets 1 gpt more.

Has anyone found a solution to the no notifications bug? I’ve seen it mentioned in this thread a few times but haven’t found a fix.

I’m playing on the latest beta (no EUI). I’ve already tried reinstalling the mod and the issue persists.

Just for reference (please don't take this the wrong way - certainly not trying to pull an 'updae wen' on you guys!) do we have any rough idea when the next version might drop? Looking to start a new campaign and, since I usually play Epic speed, don't want to start something if a new version is coming shortly.

Just coming back to VP after a long hiatus, so I don't know if any of my experiences are new with this patch or not.

Is anyone else seeing the AI peace out super quickly? So far, I've had Ethiopia bearing down on me (with a force that I would have stood no chance against) sue for peace basically the instant the option was available, as well as a joint war just now where there was no actual combat between us and the same thing happened, but the AI I was in joining in the war also peaced out immediately, and then came to me, like, two turns later asking to join him in another war with someone else.

I'm pretty sure this stuff was fixed recently. Are you playing with latest hotfix?
