A Brave New World Part 2

Listen, we won't accept the EP later unless we get some kind of collateral or interest. How are we to know that you won't just take that EP and never pay it back...or even worse, use it to recruit military units to subjugate us.

Please, leave your paranoias somewhere else that is not related to your government. The Danish Empire is not a country that uses military force unless forced by the circumstances. If you declare war on us, then the fight will turn bloody for both of us, but we will only attack to keep the borders as they are and to keep the statu quo. If you don't declare war and accept the offer, you will see that we are honourable people that always keep our promises. We aren't going to attack you, subjugate you or anything else that you might imagine.

And isn't the possibility to trade with the Danish Empire enough collateral? It would certainly help your economy grow up, especially when considering that there are several things that we are not sure your country is able to produce, but that the Danish Empire can produce.

Consider our offer, please, because we don't want this petty discussion turn into a bloody war among our two nations.

Signed,
King Christian IX of Denmark

We feel we should not send money to Denmark to build the bridge, as we fear the money will just be used to keep your bully happy. Give us proof to the contrary, and we may be more inclined to throw some aid to the bridge effort.

The fact that we are about to finish the Brosskaber Project, with two thirds of the bridges built, the other third at a 30% and the railroads and train station at a 50% should be more than enough to show you that we are committed to finishing the Brosskaber Project, in spite of the attempts of the Zulu Empire to force us to do his willing.

*tears up paper*

If you don't trust us, how do you expect us to trust you? Your word means nothing to us, and we are not willing to take the chance to believe you now. Also, how is trade collateral? You benefit from this.

We really want to see this end, but we will not back down from our stance from being paid immediately. Here is what we propose. You pay us 1EP now, and give us one Light Cruiser and one Heavy Cruiser or three Destroyers at the same time. This way, you can spend your EP on whatever, and we get the ships we need.

You have been the first not to trust the other's word, so please don't try to turn my words around. If you aren't willing to trust our word that we are going to pay, how do you think that we are going to trust you? Does the Zulu Empire really believe that things are going to go its way by trying to bully its neighbours into doing whatever they want? Do you really think that your attempts to force us to do something we clearly don't want to do are going to work? We are sure that even if we offered you the Heavy Cruiser or the Destroyers you wouldn't trust us. But two things are sure: declare war on us, and you won't get a thing. Accept our offer and you will receive everything in the stipulated period, despite your beliefs that we will go back on our word. It is also quite obvious that you need some training in the fine art of diplomacy.

As for trade, you would also gain benefit from it. There is your collateral.

You said you thought we were going to use the EP to fund the military and thus invade your colonies. That is why we don't trust you, because you don't trust us to use our property for anything more than war.

Collateral does not allow gains to both parties, only the part holding it. How is assisting your economy insurance that you pay us?

OOC: Milarqui, get on AIM...we are really filling up this thread fast.

Where did we actually said that? The nearest thing we suggested was that you wanted the ships to declare war on someone, but we never said that it would be us. Please, don't put in our mouth things that we haven't said.

Regardless of your attempts to disrupt any agreement we might reach, our offer still stands as it is.

OOC: I am on AIM, I am Milarqui.

We are willing to cede you one extra Light Cruiser for 1 year as long as you give it back the year after, along with our current offer.

If you mean that we will receive 1EP and 2 Light Cruisers this year, and 1EP while returning one Light Cruiser the next year...then we accept. We are glad you finally grasped the concept of collateral.

Considering that you had not said exactly what you considered to be collateral, then it is quite obvious that the discussion had become as it is.

OOC: nearly 2 pages discussing this. It would have gone faster if the Zulus had just accepted my first offer.
@Darth: you should write a thread about how to play IC. Damn, you ARE stubborn!

OOC: Everything goes faster if you accept first offers. But rarely do you get what you want right away.

OOC: At least I explained it to you over AIM. I put the answer out their plainly, you just didn't notice it.

@EQ: I will be sending orders either today or tomorrow since I will be out of town/busy Saturday through Tuesday.

@Nailix: Can I get an answer to my PM ASAP?

I would like assurance that this political strife troubling your government will not hinder the remainder of our agreed compensation.

@EQ: I am not really satisfied with my part, as I never meant for our nation to become a socialist state, merely have a nationalized industry and increased social welfare programs that was still under a mostly conservative democratic system. Its like the national oil and mining companies of most of the democratic South American nations today. Plus, I never said the wealthy or military would be neglected in this program, indeed, the military will be empowered and the wealthy would benefit with the added industry and their private businesses would grow.

Re: Virginia, Fox, Sauk

We, as Virginia, would like a peaceful resolution to this conflict and ask France to withdraw their declaration of war. Also if worst comes to worst, we will evacuate as many Fox peoples, if the Fox government is willing, as we can to save them from Sauk agression to north Canada until their well being can be assured back in their homeland.

@carmen510: Your program reeks of socialism. Yes, some countries do it in the modern day, because many countries have socialist tendencies. On the plus side, the people like it.
