A Brave New World Part 2

To: New France
From: China

China imagines this would be the first loan of many and its main purpose is to facilitate trans-Pacific trade. New France would need not worry about paying us back until their reconstruction project is finished and the interest rate would be kept very low. (OOC: Maybe 1 EP for every 10 EP we loan you. If we end up loaning you under 10 EP then don't even worry about paying it back)

To: SUSA
From: France

Us? We are the harbingers of peace, we are its greatest advocates. Part of a lasting peace means not supporting a belligerent nation that seeks - what was it? - worldwide revolution. And recognition is a form of support. Your isolation protects you, cozy in South America, but there is a whole world beyond those waves and jungles. And they want nothing to do with you.

From: SUSA

We were the first power to come to a real peace (making peace with powers you never really fought doesn't count) in the World Wars and brought to an end the war Venezuela started, and lead to peace in South America. We weren't even the ones that started the World Wars; New England fired the first shot at us! And you call yourselves a peaceful nation? Who backstabbed her allies after requesting that they join together against another power on another continent? Not us. And at least we don't send our minorities on death trains.

You know, thanks for showing us the light. We're safe where we are. We don't want to join an organization created by such immoral powers such as yourselves.

This might be a tad suicidal, but the Turkish Sultanate is now being run by yours truly.

To Turkish Sultanate
From Russian Federation:

We wish to reaffirm our friendship as a simple formality, and make sure you know we are taking care of your war debts to the axis.

The peace we have created in Europe will last forever. Mark our words.

This sounds favorable, we accept, and once our ports are fully repaired and functioning we hope to see many Chinese merchants.

Make a desert and call it peace.

OOC: Man, I have the urge to write another story. But on what? Damn writers' block.

To The World
From Virginia

The chaos and anarchy that has gripped the former Empire of Louisiana is unfortunate and saddening. We would like to take this moment to re-affirm our friendship and alliance with the Louisianan people, but realize that this is something the Louisianans must work out for themselves. As such, Virginia extends her alliance to cover all former Louisiana states, in that we will protect them from interference of outsiders (exception is Texas, who themselves have been attacked).

To Iraq, Arabistan
From Virginia

We do respect the rights and freedoms of the Iraqi people. To that extent, the Iraqi Constitution was even recently amended to remove direct authority of the His Highness Henry II. We do, then, ask for the Arabistani and Iraqi to recognize the rights of Virginians, who have made investment and business in Iraq their livelihood, and who have only brought wealth and modern society in Iraq. We do realize Iraq must soon chart its own destiny, but the time is not now. Not so soon after the World Wars, where threat lingers around every corner, and not so soon where Iraq cannot defend itself.

To Cuba
From Virginia

We hope the Louisianan fleet will be properly returned once the Louisianans have sorted themselves out.

To Metis
From Virginia

We again offer an olive branch. Accept membership in the Imperial Protectorate, and we shall leave domestic (and even some foreign) policy to Metis leaderships.

To Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Canada, New England, Chicago, Alabama, Mississippi, Appalachia
From Virginia

Lets us celebrate our peace together! Please accept this invitation to organize football teams of your own and join the International American Cup.

To: Virginia
From: Alain Picard, General of the Syndicalist Army of the Métis

We will not be tied to your imperialist domination, subservient to those who have already destroyed what we had struggled for so long to build. You have so much more to lose than we, and victory over the will of the people is an impossibility. Leave our territories, and allow us to chart our own course towards freedom.

To: World
From: France

To celebrate the new peace, we hereby announce the creation of The World Cup, an international football association which will invite all nations of the world to send one team to compete and participate yearly. For this new association, a cash prize will be given to the winning team as well as the honor of their position as the world's supreme team.

For this association, we invite representatives from Russia, Virginia, New England, and SUSA to help begin with the preparations necessary to launch the first games in 1950.

Venezuela would like to assist this World Cup, as our football team is amongst the best in South America.

And ours is the best! The SUSA will participate, just to smack down the Venezuelans and to beat the French at their own game.

OOC: This is where I get confused: are the North Americans playing American football or soccer?

RE: World Cup
From: France

We will gladly accept a delegation from Venezuela as well. For the year 1950, France will pay to host the cup finals, including transportation and lodging, to inaugurate the event - and from then on the World Cup Committee will be fully independent of any one nation.

TO: World
FROM: Korea

Under the new constitution the Korean Empire has officially relinquished it's rights to declare war upon any nation in an act of aggression, but retains the rights to defend itself from invasion, attacks and any other miscellaneous military activities. A new era of peace and advancement in Korea is the intended goal and Korea fully supports any organization that ensures the safety of the world from another set of world wars.

@the two people interested in Louisiana factions: I'd be happy to have you, just send in orders for the faction of your choice.

First some diplomacy, but stay tuned for more details on A Brave New World 2.2.

To: Arabistan
From: Iraq

We thank our brothers to the east for their support against Virginian domination in the Middle East. We knew we could count on you for aid in this time of strife.

To: Virginia
From: Iraq

We are more than capable of defending ourselves against all aggressors, including yourselves. We will leave the Virginian Imperial Protectorate, and we will not allow any stationing of Virginian troops upon our sovereign soil. Beyond that, property rights may be negotiable.

To: Virginian Empire
From: Cuba

We have already made deals with the legitimate heirs to the Louisianan government. In exchange for asylum, they have granted us possession of their fleet. If any of the rabble currently in occupied Louisiana proclaim themselves the new government, we will refuse to recognize them.

Since I've had several Private Messages and questions on AIM about the non-government organizations (NGOs), I've decided it may be best to clarify a few details about them. First and foremost, there will be NO player-created ones. Because of fears of abuse, I will only create these groups when one would logically appear. To begin with, there will only be three organizations, each of them with a long and estabished history in A Brave New World. These three are the Catholic Church, Red Cross, and the New York Yankees.

To: Virginia, Iraq
We feel that Iraq is capable of protecting itself without Virginian assistance. We also feel that it would be possible for Virginians to maintain their private property within Iraq. However, if Virginia continues its current position of maintaining control of Iraq then the Iraqis are more likely to just have all Virginians removed without compensation. It would seem to be in Virginia's best interest to allow Iraq independence from the protectorate before things get worse.
