A Brave New World Part 2

Inuit Nannut Parties:

Amerk Mitkrolik Party: Means the "Fur Party" basically. So named because it supports selling fur to outsiders for money to help modernize. (Liberal)

Qaujimajatuqangit Party: Basically means "Traditional Culture and Knowledge Party". Supports maintaining the status quo. (Conservative)

Inuit Sivudlerk Party: Means "Inuit First Party." Supports uniting all Inuit people under one nation. (Reactionary/Lisist)

I return! Haseri's choices for parties is more or less accurate... while Lisist's may not be illegal whoever supports France (those rare troubled individuals) are more or less 'illegal'

Thank you all for your contributions to date. Fear not! Work is still underway on 2.2 (which may as well be "3"), though it was momentarily delayed by the holidays. I hope you're all having a good vacation from school or work, and I just want to let you all know that you can look forward to the next thread by the end of the week.

Call it 3. It will make me feel better about myself to have gotten my awards at the actual end of the NES for some reason.

What with the new rule sets, maps and set ups, I'm jumping on board the "ABNW 3" bandwagon. Awaiting it with bated breath...

I'm back from London and having seen the city up close and personal I somewhat regret bombing it. =( However once England's mine I'm gonna fix it up... and maybe do something about unclear road signs and twisty curvy roads.

I am honored to receive awards for Most In Character and Best Overall Player and thank those who voted for me on the latter. It wasn't easy and a strand or two of hair turned gray during the World Wars, oy veysemir.

Nouvelle France
Parti Communiste
Parti Socialiste
Parti Syndiqué/Parti Syndicaliste (Depending on whether this party is based on the Métis' 'Syndicate Party' or is simply named the 'Syndicalist Party')
Parti Social-Démocratique
Troisième Façon
Parti Nationaliste
Parti pour la Préservation Nationale de la Nouvelle France
Parti Lisist (assuming that Lisism has become a proper governmental designation- otherwise it would probably be Parti de Lisism, assuming that the gender of the word 'Lisism' is masculine)
Parti Nationaliste Américain

If germanicus12 is happy with all of the names, those are the translations.
Awesome to see that map resurface! :D

Awesome! I like watching the Metis Syndicate because it's so fascinating to me. I will note, however (referring back to my notes from about 1920) that the original title for the Lisist Party, translated to French, was indeed "Parti de Lisism." It remains that way in France today - however imitation parties often strive for Lisist government, not necessarily an embodiment of Lisist ideals. A government can be called "Lisist," that is. Any Lisist Party formed before 1936 is likely therefore to be a "Parti de Lisism," with those following capable of being called "Parti Lisist."

Also I must note to Circuit who I'm grateful to see scratched up some party lists that I am relatively sure that the Lisist Party exists in Syria and is in vogue. If it's not notable yet... well, it will be, mark my words.

Finally, I mentioned to EQ earlier about calling the new thread ABNW 3.0 for all of these same reasons. I don't remember why he opposed it, but part of the reason had to do with 2.2 not introducing enough in the way of new content or a major shift to justify a bona-fide sequel. Personally, however, I believe that ABNW 3 would be overdue with the planned end-date of 2010.

EDIT: Happy New Year, everybody!

unclear road signs and twisty curvy roads.

There are no such things. Why on Earth did you drive around London anyway? We have the Tube for a reason.

I love the Tube but I took a taxi to and from the airport. The driver either knew what he was doing or was just dodging around like everyone else.

Being the whore for attention and popular support that I am, it shall be 3! The new thread should hopefully be up and running by the end of the day, but this does not mean that we'll be good to go completely. A few more steps need to be done, with the goal for completion still being this weekend.

I thank all of you for your assistance with political parties, and that does ease the burden a bit. There are a few more "flavor" things which could be done, but are not required for the new NES. Among these are adding cities to the new map, which I have determined not to do, because I'm rather lazy in that respect. If a kind-hearted individual from your ranks chooses to do so, I'd appreciate it, but be aware of the work that will entail.

Another way of assisting in this endeavor will be in creating the background for the new NES, which is currently on the lowest bit of my priorities. This is essentially just fun story telling, expanding on the universe that we've created here. In the past, I have made threads to hold the backgrounds, but stumbled upon a bit of a stumbling block. The failure of these threads was that player contributions became scattered across the thread, making recent and up to date information become nearly impossible to work out. This time, I'll be making an Appendix Social Group, holding information on standing treaties, nation histories, and the like. Think of it as a harder to use mini-wiki. The social group will definitely be constructed by the end of the evening, and if you choose to participate, we'll be needing things like brief national/military/political histories, brief descriptions of ABNW concepts which do not technically exist in our timeline (i.e. Lisism and Klannism), brief summaries of the events of each update, and descriptions of old and currently standing international treaties. I of course reserve the right to edit any of it for quality.

Whoops, hit post reply before I was truly ready. Forgot to mention in one of the sections above that another fun thing which could be used for the social group woulld be more detailed descriptions of some of the units designs (which I know some of you have written already in the past). Lastly I wanted to inform all of you of my current progress on the conversion. At this moment, I am working on altering all the nation stats to the new format which is noticably more extensive, but not AS bad as some of you may recall from the The World Turned Upside Down 2. What SHOULD be posted tonight is a complete and updated stat list, and placeholders for the rules and designs.

Yay go for 3!

And Crezth why not just turn England into Scotland?

I'll add as many cities as I can before my eyes bleed out.

Hello there. I have finally finished college apps...

@EQ: Sorry for leaving without much advance warning for the 3rd time.

Goodbye all again. Perhaps I'll return in eight months or so.
