The platform of ANY Game of Thrones/Ice and Fire character would look about like this

1. You will die.
2. Everyone you care for will die.
3. Everyone you ever cared for will die.
4. And your little dog too.

That is why you should not vote for them.

manifestly not true for the four characters I said I'd vote for

not that voting for hereditary nobility/monarchy makes any sense anyway

Not a fan of Baelish's Machiavellianism, and Renly... hard to make a comment without spoilers. I just think Jorah's the coolest. Objectively speaking, the best leader would probably be either Eddard Stark, Howland Reed, or Stannis Baratheon.

(Disclaimer: I'm just about to finish A Clash of Kings.)

Well that explains it. Jorah's weaknesses begin to emerge in Storm of Swords. (I won't go any more) Same thing with Stannis to be honest.

I feel like one of the Tyrells would be a good choice. Is it Garlan I am thinking of?

Oh and also obviously Rhaeger.

Re Asoiaf candidates: Brynden Rivers.

Also (it's a little out of date, but still pretty funny):

hahahah that last one did it for me

The Ron Paul column is just stupid. Gold is far, far more valuable than iron. And its not clear that he wants gold anyway. I think he may just want free market money (Which would presumably be backed by gold, note that if he does want free market money I don't actually agree with that, I do think that printing money is a legitimate job of the government although I want it backed by something rather than just the good faith of the crony politicians of the US govt.)

whoosh, said the joke.

By the way, "iron standard" doesn't refer to a monetary basis, the people of the Pyke islands had an old way of life based on pillaging (they're basically an analogue to our stereotypes about medieval vikings) called the "iron way".

American: Gary Johnson - Libertarian 5 6.76%
Non-American: Gary Johnson - Libertarian 0 0%

So... there are, in fact, at least 4 users other than myself who pay attention to reality.

I'd very much like to know who they are.

I like to think I pay attention to reality, too. What else is there to pay attention to?

(But I'm just a poor deluded fool. Therefore... no conclusion can be drawn.)
