AND 1.75

I notice the AI don't deal with GG with efficiency. (Too) many are produced but just to be stationed in cities like defender units.

The question is : Does the AI really "knows" to handle with GG properly ?

I believed GG should disappear from 1.75
I saw the option available so I tried it

AND 1.75

With the discovering of Tourism, we are able to incorporate Safari Hunter, wich is great to bring :commerce: and :science:

To do so, It required Ivory or Whales or Deer or Fur. The best is to get all of them in a large among...

The thing is that Industrialism and Plastics (available long before Tourism) make Fur and Ivory obsolete ! So, What is the point ?

I'd like to to find a ultimate advantage of my Elephants and my marmots with this quit interesting corparation

Two odd things. One might be a bug.

1. I have three Great Prophets sleeping in a city. I've assigned each of them a tech to learn. I want the first to learn Political Philosophy (I think that's it), which is most definitely available to research (in fact, I set it as my active research just to be sure). However, he's not waking up and doing anything. He can learn Papacy, but I don't want Papacy. Is this a bug or am I misunderstanding how the "sleep until tech" button works?

2. Spain keeps attacking me. About 2-3 turns after the peace treaty ends, Spain attacks me. He's way behind in tech and can't produce enough units to be effective, but he just won't give up on taking Munich. Worse, he keeps moving his units into open grass tiles instead of the forest tiles because destroying my Paved Road is more important that staying alive. I'm only playing on Monarch, but I expect much better of the AI. This is just silly.

And of course, I still can't play multiplayer for more than one session. The game fails to load for everyone but the host if we try a second session. I reported this problem weeks ago, but you haven't acknowledged it at all. Do you need more information from me?

From what I understand of this mechanic, it only work as if you never had this automation. So basically you need to try to trade in Papacy from other players, then bingo the GP will bulb the tech you want.

Summary: research as you normally do and if GP don't do your tech before you researched it, just reset a new tech when the list pop up again. The order in there is there for a reason. The majority of times, it work because you already had researched or traded in the earlier techs.

You don't understand the Great Prophet Teching mechanic at all. I suggest you read the article on it.

You mean the cottage improvements? As I said before, coming in Patch B. I'm hesistant to release a patch to fix only one non-critical bug. (Critical = CTD).
Hey Afforess, could you release a hot-fix file that fixes the Cottage problem?

Hi, I think the battering ram in the earlier stages of the game is too efficient (Powerful). It should only be able to defend and bombard city defenses. It has, to my opinion, too much attack bonuses; causes collateral damage 50%, and 75% on attack (should be only around 25%, and 50% on attack); immune to siege weapons (should have a negative -% bonus vs. siege weapons), and has a ranged attack (should be disabled due to opportunity fire option, which makes no sense). Instead, I think it should just receive more defensive bonuses like +25% vs. melee units and 50% vs. archery units, this I find, would balance the early stages of the game.:crazyeye:

Hello Aforess, i note some minor issues:

The fish traps early building is giving 33 food.
The advisor screen dont save the changes.
My coal plant disapear, the system say i have lost the coal, but its wrong, i dont lost. Coal shows in city resources screen.
When i choice to hide obsolet work actions, the water tunnel disappear.
Why Executives can't use the aiport? Fear of air? Lift dont show in menu. And show to soldier in same city.

Hello all. Apologies if this question has been answered in a previous thread...

I just D/L RoM:AND + the patch. I chose the "Blue Marble" option, plus one of the snazzy interface choices (steel?) Installation took forever, but I'm patient...

I load AND from the BTS menu... and then I wait... and wait... and wait some more

Eventually, it loads... to a title screen with no (text) menu options. The cursor is present; I'm able to click on "dead space", but I cannot start a new game. When I do click on the areas normally occupied by "single player"/"multiplayer"/etc., a freeze (occasionally) results. Even when the game does not freeze, I'm stuck. What am I doing wrong??

I use Windows XP. Decent system. No major problems with any other CIV IV modpack//mod-mod.

I detect another minor bug, i'm playing with Incas, and the terrace is pre-requisite to build bakery, the problem is: when a develop to modern granary i cant build bakeries! Say i dont have terrace.

Hi Afforess!!! First of all: Thank you very much for the mod: it's awesome.

Can you help me with this infinite turn??? It's my first game on AND. I have 1.75 AND (clean install of BtS with Marble and Celeurean skin selected in the AND 1.75 installation + patch), RevMod, BarbarianCivs and many more options activated in the Customized Game. I have chosen spanish in Civ options language.

If may help, all the previous turns were very fast (<15 seg.) but this one last forever. I have a standard map, normal speed and in 890 AD with 11 known civs and just discovering new lands. I saw a lot of minor (i think) DinamicCivName phyton errors during all the game.

Need alittle more info than that, like 3.0 GZ, 2 Gb RAM, XP etc:dunno: Just a thought:hmm:

Strategyonly;

Sorry the delay, havent had time to play in a while... My system is dual 1.8ghz, 2gb ram, XP sp3, I couldn't do the 3gb-switch option (f**** up my graphics on desktop) - still waiting on support on that front.
- Anyways, hope the info clears it up.

Psynringe;

Thanks, for that info.. I think I ran the second largest map. But will try a smaller map now!

If the /3GB switch is wrecking your desktop, then your graphics driver doesn't find enough address space to allocate. You can fine-tune the memory split with the /userva switch. Took a bit of fiddling, but worked for me.

I agree here also, i almost forgot about this part, i had to change mine from 2900 to 2500.

But dont go lower than 2500, otherwise its really not a change, its the same olde puter.

Autoquote ;)

I've found the problem!! After trying to pass the turn editing in the WorldBuilder I remember that I set a max of 5 UPT. Setting to "0" (no limit in stacks) I'm able to continue the game and the "waiting for other civilizations forever bug" solved.

There's a bug in the AI managing moves in some situations (i don´t know exactly) if there's a limit in UPT. I hope this can be solved because i love the upt limit option. Now get back to SoD.

Thx for this great Mod, a really depth Civ.
