Aff, i think i catch a bug here.I think it haven't been reported before.I was playing as Spanish.I have a guard in my city, and i have all the requirement it needed to upgraded to city guard.The pedia said that it also need castle in the city.So i build citadel which is Spanish version of castle.But i still can't upgrade it(the upgrade button doesn't even appear, while usually, where i can't upgrade because i don't have the requirement, the button would be grey).Then i use WB to add castle(not citadel) to my city, and now the button is appear.

Yep, that's a bug. Good catch!

I cannot mod AND. when i installed it for the first time, i played it without editing any of the files and it worked. I started a new game and all the new features was there. However, when i started to mod the XML, everytime i start a new game, it loads to about 25% then i get abnormal program termination error. The changes i made are all working, as they show up in the civilpedia on the menu, but when i go to start a game it crashes.

So the game crashes when Initializing a map? Have you tried other mapscripts? Some of them are tempermental, and only mapscripts with the RoM_ prefix will work.
 
can you tell me what the log might be called? I am still having trouble locating it. I set my civ4config doc to log per instuctions on this forum. thanks!

I have tried every map type that starts with RoM_, and it crashes when loading the map. Here is a screenie of the error message that i get in case that helps.

Okay, so please provide details. Maybe a copy of the savegame in question? Not sure if there's any software available to look at it or anything.

Afforess said it was purely random so I decided to toss it away since there's nothing we can do about it.

Don't worry, I now am in another excellent game :D. Beautiful game when I modded the 18 civs Earth map to just have three civs (Egypt, China, and India). I play China. Funny how civs spawned from barbarians. In Russsia area, Latvia came. In France area, France did!. In south Africa, Argentina came (I think). And in Americas, Korea and Greece came :lol:.

In case you are curious, I just grabbed the 18 civ Earth Huge map from PublicMap and use Notepad++ and carefully (damn carefully!) erased and moved the civs I want to first three places and clean up the list to have 50 civs in total. Carefully, I said! :lol: After that, you play with basically realistic starting position of three ancient civs. I plan on playing with Gigantic map Carter's Map with just four ancient civs as a starting civs: Sumeria, Egypt, China and India.

Fun fun!
 
In case it matters regarding my Save Game, I added a new civilization to it (I KNO, RITE?!), though that Civilization has not appeared in the game itself. I added the Confederate States of America, a download on this site.
 
Something seems odd with the ideology civic anarchy times. I was in egalitarianism and to switch to progressivism when it became available was 6 turns (non spiritual, marathon speed) individualism and free enterprise were both 1 turn of anarchy, and when in progressivism, switching to any other ideology civic was only one turn. this seems off to me, and I thought I'd chime in.

Thanks, that was a bug. Fixed for AND 1.60.

Same problem with me.Since 2.8, i can't play any scenarios with rom(pure rom, without any modmod:sad:)
 
Hello!

Been playing RoM 2.8 alot with no problem, but now when i played "A new Dawn" I got this graphic bug, both in 1.53 and 1.54. The textures turns black!! I tried to re-install same thing. Once it was ok for an short while.

Think I´ve got the same problem. Got a brand new computer now (6gb RAM, woohoo!) and earlier this week I tried AND on a gigantic map and everything worked like a charm. But when I got up today and started a new save the map looked very weird indeed :sad:

Tried different map sizes and scripts, reloading the game, reinstalling the mod, but it still looks the same. Haven't done a single thing to the computer since I last played AND and ROM works just fine.

That happens to me all the time. According to another thread, they claimed this is something due to having too many civilizations in the game, and the solution was to disable some of them. I sure as hell ain't doing that (or at least, not yet), so my solution has been to simply close the game and re-open it. Sometimes it doesn't fix right away, so I end up re-opening the game a dozen times or more.

My game keeps constantly crashing...

I played unitl 1700 and now nearly every time I click on "contact" to another leader
the game crashes.

I think my cpu is not that bad... but can someone give me some advice how to tweak my
civ game?

is it possible to deactivate the leaderheads and make them static?

Can I debug my game? (how?)

any other tips?

Mod is great, but for me unfortunately totally unstable in the mid-end game. :(

same thing,
when i hit modern times, the game crash after a few turns.
It's the third game with the same effect.

Apparently, this has been affecting my game regardless of the map. As in, I tried starting a new game a half-dozen times, and it always ends up with the terrain black/cut-out looking

There is a static leaderheads module in the Unloaded Modules folder. Simply move that to the Modules folder.

As for crashes, I am aware that the late game is less stable. Re-loading auto saves generally works.

I highly recommend turning off a few of the mega pack civilizations (You can just change the 1's to 0's in the MLF file. Tutorial on how in the modmod's forum.) I believe there is a limit to the game engine that is being reached by adding that many civilizations.
