Scribbler, thanks for the save. I found the CTD bug, and fixed it. I'll release a patch tomorrow afternoon that will be save compatible and fix yours, and a few other problems.

Glad to hear that. Was wondering if it was just my machine (and for a short while thought it might have been the new memory I installed -- I've had way too many problems with memory in the past)

Just for reference (if you didn't know), the stable download of InstallJammer can't tell if it's been installed on Windows 7. Current 1.2 snapshot can.

I've also been meaning to mention this -- you really should put in a checkbox that automatically places a mod="Rise of Mankind" BTS icon on the desktop (default to off), if possible on the same page as picking destination directory. It's not high priority, of course, but I get the feeling that at least some players are opening the mod through the in-game menu, which does take a little bit longer to load the whole thing.
 
Am just wondering - for the "Final Five" game option, would it be possible to allow the user to specify the number of turns in which a civ would be eliminated (now 50 turn default on normal) and also give the user the option of changing the number of players allowed to stay so its not fixed to 5?

I would like to set my configuration to every 100 turns (normal) and increase the 5 to a 7. That way at least there are only 7 civs remaining at late game (which I find is a good number compared to 5).
 
Personalized Map option seems to do nothing for me. I don't see ANY landmarks at all.

Now, the weird part is that one of my cities got a bonus from landmark but I didn't see any at all. It's almost like they are there, but they just don't show up.

Could it be something you set in RoM User Settings? I think there's an option that disables seeing tile event boni (like: Wild Beast +1 Food). Check through all the CTRL+ALT+O menus for it.

Nope, just checked it and it's turned on.
 
You're running other mods aren't you? I've never had this problem myself, despite starting custom maps in the betas and in the official quite a few times, so I'd think it may have to do with those externals.

Sometimes i do, and sometimes i dont, it all depends on what i am testing at the time, i have like 10 (ten) different RoM mods i am doing at one time, so its really hard to say which is what i am doing, sorry.:blush:

Aieee :dubious: why bother testing when you're not even sure what you're testing. First rule of testing: always know what it is you're testing. :nono:

Anyway, I can see you're running something else by the screenshot, with a hunter unit. Not saying that your problem isn't caused by AND, but it's gonna be hard debugging the issue if you're running something outside of AND.

(as an aside, why oh why is there no faceplant emote?)

But to help, start a new game with personalized map and attach the save.

Also, include your "A new dawn.log" file here (found in the Rise of Mankind folder), like I did here.

Finally, including the Usersettings folder might help. I'll try taking a look at it, and if I can't help, I'm sure Afforess can.

Does it require event signs turned on?
 
With 1.73 + patch we're still getting corrupted save games in multiplayer (basically saved games that crash the game when we try to load them).

Is there anything we can do to help debug this issue?

(one of the crashes we had happened when someone saw 'lowering the difficulty" message (which I attribute to dynamic difficulty mod) -- however the host didn't have it on -- is it possible that single player setting was interferring somehow? However even after everyone went into single player and toggled it off, we still got corrupted saves :()

That's because A New Dawn doesn't work in MP. Whenever RevDCM get their act together and release their MP fixes, I'll let you know.

Err... wish I knew that earlier, considering the installer used to have 'recommended mp' option it didn't really occur to me that it might be unsupported...

I suppose it would not be trivial to remove RevDCM mod (speaking strictly about our installs, not ROM/AND distribution)? What if we disable all the RevDCM settings? Could it work or is it incompatible with MP even if turned off?

I don't think that will help. With the corrupting saves, I know a few issues in RoM that could cause it, and have alerted Zappara to them, so *maybe* 2.92 will work with MP.

When MP is working semi-stable, I'll make sure to tell you guys.
 
that file, the woc_xxxx.jar could you upload it for to to insert?
 
And where should I put it again?
