I grew up in a place where we referred to New York as "the city" and even though I don't live there anymore I still refer to New York as "the city."

"Mexico city" ;)

Makes sense if it is by far the most massive city in the area.

Another name for Constantinople was/is "reigning city" (different from the also used at some time, "queen city/queen of cities"); city is feminine in greek.

If purple is Byzantine (and purple should always be Byzantine :yup: ) it looks strange. Not only due to to lacking... Constantinople, but also lacking Morea. I mean, Constantinople and Morea were the last byzantine lands.

Purple is Greece. AH.com's maps use the same colour for Greece and Byzantium.

(late reply lel).

What a bizarre map.

It could be worse.

They could've put Kurdistan and Iran with the Arab Federation.

 Assyria is missing. On the other hand you've made the ‘British’ Empire blue, which makes me think the capital is in Edinburgh.
"The Kingdom of West Britain".
‘Lordship’ sounds even better.

Well, that's why I approve of the map. ;)

Nah, too many aliens.

The capital must clearly be Llanfairwggyllfrynychllwfwngygogoch.

it's not traditional, but it's real savoury. So why not?
