So, blame the Norman Conquest. It still makes our vocabulary quite possibly the richest and most extensive in the world.

Anyway, English sounds very differently from German.

A couple of those Canadian maps made the Quebecois borders painfully obvious. :)
 
Maybe Albertans simply want to get rid of the Quebecois. :lol:
 
By what I see, if the rest of Canada is the old groggy guy, then Quebec would be the jumpy kid who doesn't submit to his opinion and does wacky things.

I detest both types of people.
 
Alberta is where our oil is. I think a lot of people there would prefer the profits to remain in province rather than helping out the rest of Canada. So for that reason they might support independence movements elsewhere.

But I'm half guessing (basing that on something I heard or read once, so it might not be fully accurate)
