Its only worth is as an indicator of how bad/good a country is at a certain thing, and is pretty worthless in actually giving an accurate estimate at how long a person will live, then?

It is the age at which a person is statistically expected to live at birth. Though it can be skewed by many factors, like infant mortality, disease (eg AIDS), access to healthcare, etc.

I believe his point is that in the next 80 years we do not knwo what events will occur.
If some major war occurred in 2030, then those born in 2010 would likely see a shorter average lifespan than if it didn't. Or if in the year 2074 some scientist discovers a miracle drug/treatment it could prolong the lives of anyone born in 2010 by decades. With 80 years of advancements and events, the number is really meaningless for predicting how long someone will live (though for certain purposes, such as legal ones, it will be the best estimate).

It is mroe accurately a comparison of current standards than a real prediction since, I believe we can all agree, that we don't know what events will occur.

NEW GAME!!!

In the words of Jon Stewart and The Daily Show writers...

What do you think the borders of the Middle East should be? Don't be afraid to group people with no regard for history and ethnicity. It worked for the British and the French! Invent new countries and create interesting and fresh conflicts!

NOTES
Kurdistan gets its own country. In exchange for lost territory, Turkey gets a bit more in Europe.
Cyprus unites.
Lebanon gets more territory.
Israel is reduced to a strip on the coast and some land in the south for kibbutzim.
Bits of Syria, Jordan, Israel, Palestine, and Iraq become the state of Al-Quds, with Al-Quds as its capital.
Oman, the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, parts of Saudi Arabia, and the Arabic part of Iran become Banziinistan (land of gasoline).
Balochistan is formed.
Soqotra becomes independent.
Saudi Arabic absorbs the bits of Iraq left over and Yemen to become the Greater Hijaz.
Azerbaijan gets the Azeri parts of Iran.
Armenia gets the rest of the South Caucusus.
Georgia gets a rectangular strip of Caucasia.
The rest of that area becomes Dagestan.
In exchange for all that lost territory, Persia gets land in Central Asia, the rest of which becomes Uzbekistan.
In retaliation for its genocide, Sudan is partitioned between Egypt and Ethiopia. Ethiopia then conquers Djibouti, Eritrea, and Somalia.

Winner's map

If there's a Mecca Crater, shouldn't there also be a Jerusalem one, as indicated by your post in the "Holy Places" thread? Israel is given enough compensation here anyway.

The crater was formed after an asteroid impact. Probably the rest of the celestial body a part of which was worshipped as a holy relic in Kaaba :mischief:

OK, here's my version. All hail Mother Russia!

...the Byzantine Empire is gonna have a problem if Russia wants control of the strait...

The Byzantine Empire is reinstated with Russian support and help, as per Pan-Slavic doctrine, so the straits are open for Russia. For now, at least.

Romania is part of the Slavic protectorate?

Romania is part of the Slavic protectorate?

Romania was considered not to be a large enough exception when designing the name. Romanian language in the Protectorate undergoes a process of "slavinization", started and endorsed by Russian authorities.
