One of my Chinese friends is working to broker a deal between the Zambia government and a Chinese construction company to build a new 5 star resort in the vicinity of Victoria Falls. From what I have seen of the project, it looks like a loser for Zambia, except that the Chinese form will make money on the construction and then get to walk away.
It seems to be at the root of the problems in Kenya at the moment. World bank loans are even more though.
Yes. The president has decided to veto the tax bill, so maybe that will cool off the unrest.

indeed . Western stuff is so absolutely bad that all those African statesmen prefer Chinese bribes to do stuff their countries do not need to fall under Chinese dominion . This trap is/was eagerly fallen into because of guarantees that the Chinese would not be allowed to collect . By Americans , the mighty dollar and the ever victorious Central Command . Except the West has some urgency somewhere else and the Chinese (who have to be bought everyday) do collect . Thanks to Obama whose clever way to fix the Middle East was the beardies and whose clever way to fix the Chinese threat was a lot of talk and nothing else . Will clearly not like other Obama fixes if mentioned . He is actually smart and capable , wonder why he did all that .

Yep, so many of these "amazing maps" are complete garbage; both aesthetically and factually. I can't even get upset about them because they are everywhere and I simply don't have enough mental bandwidth to get mad every time I see one.
Yes, spamming map porn from reddit is just spamming.
That map is 9 years old and covers 45 years. The single color implies that all those are somehow still active. It is very misleading.

uh , an horrible red coloured map . 'Stan does not exist , will not exist . It is or at least was standart to show my country as one piece , no doubt follows standart NATO/EU/whatever definitions of terrorist attacks . Nothing has ended ; it is merely lulled down on purpose . Also makes no impression on me to colloborate with London on anything , after having seen entirely red blobs .
