Amazon's Hiring

This is certainly not the first time I've seen a 'representative' from a company try to deal with complaints on random forums. This tactic is done by other companies besides Purolator.

But, clear this up for me, since I'm not familiar with Canadian shipping. Canada Post is a 'professional' mailing company and Purolator isn't? But Purolator is 91% owned by Canada Post.....I guess that 9% really screws everything up, eh?

that was weird... if they're lurking about maybe they can tell me how to get a hold of Amazon customer service

They have a deeply imbedded and hard to fine online contact form.

Creepy. But what did you expect from the wonderful new world you subscribed into? Sacrifice privacy for convenience, can you be surprised later on that you lost it?
This is the first time it's happened to me. Purolator delivered other things to me in the past, on time, but this time it was late and I kept getting a bunch of emailed excuses. Since part of my order has to do with Canada Day, of course I'm upset that it was late.

So I contacted Amazon and complained. They didn't need to use a courier. Unless it's Christmas or a strike is coming, Canada Post itself is more reliable.

Now Purolator is stalking me, rather than emailing me properly to resolve this. This will, of course, result in further complaints. As mentioned, I've requested that CFC admins allow the account to remain until I've dealt with this matter.

First time it's happened to me, and I find it highly inappropriate and stalkerish.

Canada Post drivers have access to my mailbox and the parcel locker here without any requirement that I let them into the building. Purolator doesn't, and this delay has meant extra days of having to make sure I'm available to let them into the building and late in the day getting an email citing "external factors" that could mean anything from "we got lost" to "we have too much stuff to deliver, so screw your guaranteed delivery date" to "it's a nice day so we went to the beach."

As I said in my complaint, I'd have understood inclement weather. But the weather has been very clement this week.

If you go to the bottom of the page you should find a 'Contact Us' link. Go there and at some point you'll find a link that will allow you to give feedback either via phone or by online chat. I used the chat option and was able to talk to a customer service agent. If you tick a box, Amazon will send a transcript of your chat session to the email address they have for you.

Maybe they have like a bot that searches whenever Amazon is mentioned and check if certain keywords are triggered
Amazon probably have all of Berzerkers personal details and resume already, and the HR department is probably processing your job application for being an Amazon driver

Just had another chat with Amazon customer service. They're going to notify the shipping department not to use Purolator for any more of my orders.

And I've emailed Purolator's customer service department. I likely won't hear anything back for a few days due to the long weekend.

Best not to include that email address in the quotes, guys. I didn't click on it and there's no point in giving this company any more opportunities here.

yup, dollar generals are springing up all over the place... but I wasn't blaming dollar general on free trade, I was linking the decline of local business to the availability of internet purchases
The rise of dollar general traces back to the great recession. The franchise exploded then and the thing with consumers is that once they've been forced to buy lower-priced brands by necessity, they don't often go back.
I think I read the same story about Amazon Flex. At best it seems like a part time position or something you do on the side to earn a bit more money. Flex workers don't get benefits, don't have any guaranteed hours, and can be deactivated at any time without warning. I get why Amazon does it, it's cheap but it sucks for their employees.
They do it because in the US we have a disturbing lack of labor protections so companies are all free to drive wages and benefits to the bottom of the barrel. The argument, 'well you can just get a job at a company that treats their workers better' holds no water since the labor protections are so low that literally every company is engaging in this behavior. It's large-scale social engineering that is dragging our entire economy down.

And the worst part of it all is that there is no net benefit to the country by allowing these practices. The right likes to believe in this fantasy where companies are virtuous and invest the money they steal from their employees back into the business to create more wealth but in reality all the profits wind up in the accounts of a handful of robber barons that don't do anything useful with that money. It's not trickle down economics, it's trickle up.

I can only wonder how much longer our country will be in the grip of the fever dream that is unfettered capitalism.

As long as there is hope that one can climb the hill and join the club. You don't even have to climb all the way up the hill either. So don't expect it to change any time soon.

Amazon has their own delivery service in the south asian countries like India and they work effectively there, I think it's called ATS(Amazon Transportation Service) not entirely sure.

I checked my mailbox a little while ago and found 5 books waiting for me. All were delivered by Canada Post. No problems at all.
