Angry Talk-Radio

Neither party understands economics, or are fiscally conservative. :)

(Neither would the minor parties be fiscally conservative if they became major parties, either.)

I agree with your first statement, that is mainly why I left the Republican Party in 97' or 98', I forget when exactly.

Maybe I am an idealist, but I would like to think that a 3rd party rising to power on the basis of fiscal conservatism would understand how they came to be in power.

What, just because of the truthers? Constitution Party has been wacky beforehand. They believe that the Income Tax is unconstitutional, for god's sake.
It is unconstitutional. The 16th amendment was never legally ratified. Good luck in changing that now though.

It should be noted that the co-author of the book who discovered the alleged defects in the ratification process was criminally convicted and imprisoned for wilful failure to file income taxes, and he used his argument unsuccessfully in his defense in court.

Furthermore, the federal government's power to impose income tax doesn't stem from the 16th amendment. Even without the 16th amendment the government could still tax wages, but taxing profits from property (rents for example) would be prohibited from what I understand.

Of course he was convicted, do you think the government is going to give up that revenue once acquired? Hell no they're not.

Go read the 16th amendment and you might beat back the frontiers of your ignorance.

Did. There's nothing wrong with it. Perfectly sensible.

I had no idea the kind of hate and fear-mongering that goes on during these shows.

Watch Bill Maher Live, no right wing media outlet anywhere has anything on this lefty

Listen to Neal Bortz most mornings on my way to work, since I listen to another guy at night and am to lazy to change the friggan channel for a seven minute drive. he's a dick, but hey, he makes me lol

The person who you are talking to is an anarchist. If it was actually a valid criticism, he'd be all over it.

Best comedian in my book is Brian Regan

"Here's how you get cannonball wound!" lol

Well I like Brian Regan, or Lewis Black. They're both favorites. It's like another favorite but not as much. Not as much favorite. It's like if they don't have Brian Regan it's like "fine, Lewis Black is favorite anyway". But they're both good. They're both good.

Oh God, this again. Please don't use the word "legally" if you don't understand law. The argument that it wasn't "legally" ratified is based on typographical errors in the documents presented to the State Legislatures. The differences weren't material -- arguing that the Amendment wasn't ratified is like trying to argue out of a contract because it says "Septebmer 15, 2008," instead of "September 15, 2008."

Tax protesters are like little kids who don't want to do their chores and try to come up with silly rationalizations why they shouldn't have to.

Mike Savage is going to go off tonight because of Wall Street and the hurricane. Get ready for a good one.

an idiot with a phd lol

i like him because he always speaks his mind, and in that respect he's the most real person in the media that i know of

what don't you like about him?

I wouldn't want him knocked off the air, but Mike Savage is absolutely batshit insane. He's mean, he yells at people, claims to know anything and everything, refuses to listen to anyone who disagrees with him. He IS racist and prejudiced as much as he says he isn't.

He is right about some things, though. And he's tons-o-fun to listen to.

i agree with all of that. he still rules.

So is this a generation gap? Will talk-radio cede to internet blogs in 20 years (in the sense that talk-radio will no longer be the domain of extremist hate)?

More of an education, or class gap. IMO

"Speaking your mind" means nothing if it merely comes from your gut.

Sounds like the average American to me :dunno:
