bit of a mouthful.

Its not how language works.

Otherwise i am typing on noy a keyboard.. but a "flat-divice-used-to-compute-language-electronically-by-hand-imput" or some such nonsense.

Are you German or American Indian by chance?

"people who slightly dislikes yellow people for no apparent reason".
Slightly is not really informative. If you want to be precise you need to quantify how much they dislike them. Otherwise you will group those who dislike yellow people a lot with those who dislike them a little.

You are stepping on a slippery slope express elevator to definition hell. And it's going down :)

Abbadon: Keyboard could refer to a multitude of different models, but not a multitude of different purposes of the machine, and if it is likely that the people you are talking to know what a keyboard is but not what the difference between the models is you should use that word.

On the other hand, with homophobia one can not be sure what you mean. If you call me a homophobe I might agree, but when you meant gaybashing lunatic I might have meant anti-gay marriage conservative. You see how this hinders efficient communication?

Germany is about 400 km south. Copenhagen is about 30 km west. Swedish.

Ziggy: I've told you what I mean already, marking small words aint gonna make me roll over. I am speaking to you as an individual: Please use a more precise language in this situation! There will be much less misunderstanding, and we won't have to ask each others for definitions all the time.

OnT: When you say you dislike homophobes, what subcharacteristic do you disagree with the most?

I see what endim is saying, though. "Homophobe" itself is a derogatory term in some circles, and implying that someone hates gay people and discriminates against them, when in actuality they just feel uncomfortable around them, is a bad idea. Like it or not, words have power, and calling someone a "homophobe" will influence how other see them.

no, but if they grasp my butt i get a little scared.

...it happened.

I certainly have implicit bias against homosexuals. I will change my behaviour and attitude around people if I suspect or find out they are homosexual. It's something I notice, and something I respond to.

If we use a stronger definition of homophobic, then I certainly am not. I endeavour to treat a(n assumed) homosexual equally to a(n assumed) heterosexual person. By the same token, I try to treat people equally across gender differences, race differences, attractiveness differences, etc.

I am complimented when a homosexual shows interest in me, the same I am complimented when a heterosexual shows interest in me. But same with any cohort difference.

Nope, I'm no "homophobe" (which is a stupid buzzword anyway since it's misused so much.)

I can believe homosexuality is wrong without fearing or hating the people who do it.

I'm not afraid of them. I just have a dim view of the gay people that are like "WOO! Let's wiggle our genitals at everyone and call it gay pride!" When someone shows humility in a situation, I can tell they truly have good character.

I can believe homosexuality is wrong without fearing or hating the people who do it.

And.... that doesn't mean you are or aren't not homophobic. If you want to place restrictions on them simply because they are gay, then it can be argued that you might be.

/shrug

I don't give a rat's ass if someone's gay or straight.

However, I am terrified by hobo's, so I admit to being hobophobic.

I sleep with women.

Seriously. I don't care if folks are gay or not. I don't really enjoy being hit on by random gay men but I'm sure chicks don't dig getting hit on by random men either.

This thread is stupid, because no one in their right mind would openly declare themselves homophobics. It's like a "are YOU a racist"? Even White nationalists try to deny that they're racists!
