Aaaaaand another thing! Intelligence is clearly selected for in humans, yet this is undoubtedly natural selection and not sexual selection. How do we know that "alpha male traits" were selected sexually and not naturally? Warpus, you've already told us that alpha males are supposedly "better hunters" -- surely that would imply that it's natural selection that is at work, and not sexual selection!

EDIT: One more hidden assumption I've thought about.

It occurs to me that it's not just the genes that code for alpha male traits that have to be hereditary in order for those traits to fixate, but also the genes that code for women being attracted to those traits. This is not a trivial thing!

Outcome at the moment: nothing (like expected; not so easy to get a date if you don't speak the countries native language).

If you ever travel with a couple, especially if you are sharing accommodation with them, it is really really important to know the difference between them saying they want to go for coffee, and them saying they want to go for "coffee".
