For police oppressing opposition, the west has too--for example, oppression of Nazis and some violent rioters.

China wasn't open to dissent either last time i checked.

I want the National Front and Mossadegh back into power; or at least somebody that hasnt been around the political sphere since the Iranian Revolution of 1979.

Your country was one of the best in the Middle East with a democratic structure (the Majlis), stable economy, and high literacy rates compared to other ME countries at that time until the US
decided to kick Mossadegh off power. Now my question, PersianBoy, is this: Arent Iranian citizens sick and tired of old, cagey politicians hiding behind the facade of religion?

We do miss PersianBoy, is he arrested or something bad happened to him? That would be a CFC loss if that's true.

For political rights, foreign citizens (esp. not ethnic Chinese) have better chance to escape political persecution than local people. They're more likely to be expelled rather than jailed. But since you look like Chinese, well, a little more trouble. Especially with anti-Korean sentiment on the rise.

Don't jump the queue.;)

Nice sentence. I used this one year before discussing the harassment of dissidents.

Some friend of mine is prioritized by the authority (posting illegal material on the Internet and got warnings from police department), I replied, "Can't I jump the queue and get imprisoned before you?"

Well, the Chinese gov isnt cruel. At long as you respect their authority, they'll respect your individual freedom. Just watched the news about Xinjiang today; look like China did a great job on providing people with better lives.

By the way, can anybody else from Iran or who has been in Iran answer my question about Iranian feelings towards it political leadership?

This is the question, Cyrus.:p

only no my friend!

What does 'only no my friend!' mean?

I dont get your English sometimes... (no offense)

Is there something wrong with mentioning Mossadegh, Khameinei, Khomeini, or the the controversies made by every fatwa by the 'wise' Ayatollah on this website?

Ordinarily, I don't question people's grammar or spelling but I thought he was being a bit rude and had to call him out on it.

Great questions btw.

I agree with you.
Persianboy is not a native English speaker, though his english also confused me(English is not my mother tongue either), but it is not should be blamed.
I know a lot about Iran through this thread, thank you Persianboy.

And Persianboy, do you think that the purpose of the embargo from westerners lead by USA is only to stop you developing nuclear plants?
If you don't think so, what do you think of the other purposes?
