I agree with you.
Persianboy is not a native English speaker, though his english also confused me(English is not my mother tongue either), but it is not should be blamed.
I know a lot about Iran through this thread, thank you Persianboy.

i didnt notice. am i your contact or "persian boy"?

I want the National Front and Mossadegh back into power; or at least somebody that hasnt been around the political sphere since the Iranian Revolution of 1979.

Your country was one of the best in the Middle East with a democratic structure (the Majlis), stable economy, and high literacy rates compared to other ME countries at that time until the US
decided to kick Mossadegh off power. Now my question, PersianBoy, is this: Arent Iranian citizens sick and tired of old, cagey politicians hiding behind the facade of religion?

Mossadegh was a traitor who destroyed Iran. He has not done anything good. He was a traitor and damaged the country more than doing good to it.

When our country had a democratic structure, stable economy, high literacy rates and all it was not because of Mossadegh. Mossadegh was only primeminister for about a year or so and there is no way one can do all that change in one year. During the Shah we had a democratic nation with a parliament (Majles) and a senate.

You can thank his majesty the Shah of Iran for that. He spent years and years improving Iran in a rapid speed. What took Europeans hundreds of years it took Iranians tens of years to become a modern state.

US did not kick Mossadegh off power. It was the peoples will as he had destroyed the nation. What did he do? Here are some examples:
  • He forced women to wear Hijab again on 8 February 1953. The Shah however gave everyone the right to wear whatever they want however they want.
  • Dr Mozaaffar Baghaei was a man who worked hand by hand with Mossadeqh, he was the one that started the "group" and everything with him. The 25th November, 1949, he criticized Mossadeqh openly in the parliament and turned his back to him.
  • Mossadeqh wanted to close the parliament.
  • The economy of Iran was destroyed as no one wanted to work with Iran. We had to think strategically and that is what the Shah did. He was not a good politican either starting fights and "nationlaizing" Iran's oil one day like that.
  • According to the Iranian consitution 46th paragraph the Shah had the right to dismiss Mossadegh which was the whole idea behind "kicking him away". The Iranian people, the Imperial Iranian Army and the Shah recused Iran from this mad-man.

Iran during the Shah was golden. This regime messed the country up. Mossadegh messed the country up. Qajar (before the Pahlavi Dynasty) messed the country up.

What?!!! You actually believe the SHAH did you any good???
You remember what kind of person the Shah was, right?

He was a coward during the years of Mossadegh; he ran away every time there was a supposed conspiracy against him. After Mossadegh went out of power, the Shah made the amrt mov of centralizing power in his own hands, thus alleinating himself from the support of the middle class, liberals and intellectuals, and paved the way for the Iranian Revolution of 1979.

Do you also call Fatemi a 'traitor' for collaborating with Mossadegh in fighting against the Shah's attempts for power?

Yes.

Not really a question (although questions are put forward): http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=328241

Rafsanjani is the biggest thief of Iran. Nobody has stolen as much as he has done. Take a look at this: http://www.forbes.com/forbes/2003/0721/056.html

  • The Shah did a lot of good. Thanks to him and his father Iran did not get splited nor annexed.
  • Before the Shah only 1% of the nation could read and write. Later it went over 50%.
  • Before the Shah the GDP of Iran was around 200$, 1979 it was around $2400 - which is over $7000 USD today. Even more than the GDP of Iran today.
  • He build Iran. Protected Iran. He gave freedom etc etc.
  • He also did a lot of other things but I don't have time to write it to somebody who supports killing of innocent Palestinian children.
  • Coward during the years of Mossadegh? He left the country because he didn't want a bloodbath. As he said many times, a king can not rule on the blood of it's people.
  • Ran away everytime? Please go to a school and learn how to count. He did not run away everytime. He left the country once during Mossadegh to avoid bloodbath. He left the country after the "Revolution" to avoid bloodbath and because he knew that he could not stand against the powerful western nations alone being sick too.
  • During the Shah we had a parliament and a senate. I don't see you commenting anything I wrote about Mossadegh; I am sure you support someone who wants to shutdown the parliament and want dictatorial powers.
  • Thank you and have fun. Please stop killing innocent people, also.

US did not kick Mossadegh off power. It was the peoples will as he had destroyed the nation. What did he do? Here are some examples:
  • Apologetics? I have some question that you may be in interest.

[*]He forced women to wear Hijab again on 8 February 1953. The Shah however gave everyone the right to wear whatever they want however they want.

Was this a need by the majority of the population, or was it force fed onto their throats? If so on the latter, then you are guilty of favoring a regime that is being undemocratic.

[*]Dr Mozaaffar Baghaei was a man who worked hand by hand with Mossadeqh, he was the one that started the "group" and everything with him. The 25th November, 1949, he criticized Mossadeqh openly in the parliament and turned his back to him.

Quite unusual for politicians to switch side in alliances? I am sorry, but that is the nature of politics. Nothing conspiratorial here.

[*]Mossadeqh wanted to close the parliament.

That is factually untrue. Where did you get that source? He was a strong advocate for Parliamentarianism.

[*]The economy of Iran was destroyed as no one wanted to work with Iran. We had to think strategically and that is what the Shah did. He was not a good politican either starting fights and "nationlaizing" Iran's oil one day like that.

Huh? Again you have facts that are absolutely false. One thing he (shah) did not want was nationalization of their natural resources. Rofl.

[*]According to the Iranian consitution 46th paragraph the Shah had the right to dismiss Mossadegh which was the whole idea behind "kicking him away". The Iranian people, the Imperial Iranian Army and the Shah recused Iran from this mad-man.

Man how can anyone be wrong about everything? Wow!:goodjob:

Are there any Iranian's here who happen to know much about the period of 1900-1910, in Iran?

Yes.

When did Mossadegh want to close Parliament? That is untrue. Also, when Mossadegh tried to nationalize the oil industry from the British, the Shah hated him so much he wanted him killed (privately, of course). Mossadegh was the hero of the Third World in tackling British imperialism.

Also, Mossadegh was kicked out of power by CIA operatives. Even Bill Clinton acknowledged this. The Shah was part of the deal, too.

And if the Shah was such a great man, why didnt he stay in Iran during the Revolution? Probably feeling guilty of his own little coup twenty years before.

And just in case you misunderstood, I am NOT Jewish. I chose that name because I am a supporter of Zionism.

We've had arguments about this in other threads - Musaddiq's fall was more his fault than the Americans'. Which doesn't mean that America is truly blameless - but surely the man pissing off every single one of his possible domestic allies has more to do with his loss of the premiership than Kermit Roosevelt and a suitcase full of cash?

That is because they didn't need him after the so called pact with Egypt and Israel.

But if Mossadegh didnt have Kermit raising opposition amongst the Iranians all the time, then Mossadegh would have consolidated his own political base through the oil crisis.

"All the time" is lulz. Also I am unsure of how he would have actually done that consolidating bit...in the days before he left office, even Tūdeh were numbered among his enemies and plotting his downfall, and they were just the last in a long line of alienated supporters...the trend was not towards any sort of "consolidation" in terms of his political base - which didn't exist - as the nationalization crisis went on.

Please continue to ignore anything remotely positive that either of the Pahlavi ended up doing for Iran, too, it's a fantastic plan

I admit the first Pahlavi made important contributions to his country, but plz would anyone enlighten me with facts about what positive things the second Pahlavi did?:mischief:

But did he manage to stop the Iranian Revolution? He more or less triggered it, right?
