Know the Dark Side
It's fine. I'm more aghast at the severity of punishment. Barred from any game hosted is more punishing than a forum ban in the context of the mafia community.
@Bolded- Just my games. I have no authority over other game hosts.
And this won't be a concern, really. Most rulebreaks are accidental, and those can be overlooked or people can be wogged. Like 99% of all negative outcomes fall under that category.
Folks that engage in very undeniably deliberate cheating, with foreknowledge that it is cheating, are simply disinvited to future games I host. I have had people cheat deliberately in games I've hosted or played before, so it has to be addressed.
The big no nos:
Stuff that leads to that is like screenshotting your role PM, deliberately outing your entire mafia team and sabotaging them like giving out their quicktopic for example, using multiple accounts in the same game while it's strictly forbidden, or circumventing the no private communications rule by posting it publicly while the person is online, then editing it out, are all examples of deliberate cheating or game-ending sabotage.
If stuff like that ever happens (and it doesn't ever happen except for that one time) the rule exists so it never happens again, and as a way of ensuring that, players know from square one that it's beyond "not allowed", it's in a whole other category of behavior.
I barely ever even modkill people from my games except for total inactivity, I've never given out a more severe ruling than that. It's mostly preventative. So please don't be afraid I'm like a loose cannon who gives out severe punishments randomly. Think of them as known consequences for behavior that never happens because any time it did happen, it pretty much never happened again because it was universally not accepted by the group of players.
