funny, back in the sticks here, i was taught 'colored' was offensive? or am i missing the sarcasm?

"Sir" would be good.:D

it's funny how it's only america and to an extent britain(perhaps somewhere else) that considers "black" offensive. Polish blacks don't care about being called blacks.

In France "black" is the everyday word. Not the French translation, mind you, but the English word "black". "Noir" is considered obsolete and very mildly offensive.

I'm not black but i hate it when people call me white. I wish people would just call me cracker!

Only we can call each other crackers...

My last name is Ritz, I had few teachers in High School/Middle School that call me "cracker." I'm pretty white ;)

I see you're from Canada. Would you call a black canadian an "African-American"? Of course Canada is part of the american continent, but still.

That term is pretty much never used in Canada, and neither is "African-Canadian". This is largely because the majority of black people in Canada are of Carribean origin. Of course, obviously tracing beyond that their ancestry goes to Africa, but it still doesn't seem acceptable.

I for one have never been rubuked for use of the term 'black'.

So does mine, and yours too :p

yay! I have a vote!

Mr. President.

I didn't know silver 2039 was the President?! or black!

I say AA because its what I use for short-hand African American and I don't want to change that.... even though I'm not black/AA/colored... etc...

If you live in Canada you call someone White White and Black Black. Why do we have to change this?

because of political correct-ness.... seriously.... politics soil everything that is sacred.... did you hear the new Smokey Bear commercials?

"Only you can prevent wildfires"

what happened to FOREST fires!!

no one cares about you Chaparral!!! you're supposed to burn!

Noone considers "black" offensive in the US. Noone.

I'll call you african-american if you stop calling me Caucasian.

By their name works best I find...
