Brought to you by CFC

I'm most definitely confused. Both by the colour-coded rant, and your endorsement of it. It's like you're privy to some secret code just between the two of you.

Well... maybe more than two. But certainly some group of one, or more, people with a code book that I don't have access to.

I might even feel miffed by this. But it's such a familiar experience to me that I'm not.
When I read it, I was as drunk as everyone assumes Terx is when he writes those posts. And then some. :smoke::beer:

So yeah we were speaking in code. Hyphy scholarese.

He really did just lay out the case. I think he's solid on this one. I've been agreeing with the basic idea for a while--I've long argued that the problem with the laissez-faire American version of freedom is that it was merely a step up from worse. But Terx broadened it out and brought it home.

I have only dipped in and out, but it appears he has fully channeled the basketcase.
Naw man it was good. You gotta go in all the way or you miss it. It's a ride, so you gotta jump in at the top and look forward our way down, though the post, rather than from overhead like we normally do top to bottom.

There's only one color in this one. You should have also included VRWC's post before that one raving about the Royals' ALCS victory.
Add it in man.

Looking back, the Blue text in VRWC's post was in him quoting an earlier post he made. SamSniped also had some Blue text, though he was referring to a different Kansas City sporting team.

It does require a lot of commitment to the idea that people can honestly and legitimately weigh different life experiences and goals as of vastly different importance from one another.

Can I have a link to this post?

Mr. B, I whole-heartedly adore you after post #96 in that same thread.

Why? you may ask yourself.

Let's just say I perceived a reference to Talking World War III Blues in a line mentioning Abraham Lincoln.

Haha. Yes, absolutely. Well spotted!

It's a recurrent theme with me: I've used it now and again on CFC, whenever I've found myself saying something even vaguely similar.

Also the line "Give me a string bean, I'm a hungry man. A shot gun fired and away I ran" sits very firmly in my memory. But it seems less useful.

I liked better the "I'll let you be in my dreams if I can be in yours".

Of course!

That's the follow up to the Abraham Lincoln line.

But all of the people can’t be all right all of the time
I think Abraham Lincoln said that
“I’ll let you be in my dreams if I can be in yours”
I said that

Dylan at his best, imo.

No. It was decided that making this be a serial thread would banalise the thread. On that subject, several posts above should be deleted.

Dear me. I know we must have some standards. But don't things get a little precious at times?

Still... delete away!

Of course!

That's the follow up to the Abraham Lincoln line.

Dylan at his best, imo.

Pretty much. Some pearls here and there, great songs in great albums afterwards, but The Freewheelin' is surely his first masterpiece.

Hah, I wasn't entirely sure how serious you were in the thread, but now I am a jolly happy poster. Thank you :D Though even I wouldn't call my rant 'amazing'

But it speaks volumes that you were apparently already on the same page to begin with.
When I look at it, it just seems so obvious. But apparently one needs some real good argumentative / illustrative muscle for people who never really thought about it before. Still working on that...

I shall reply to this in the now re-opened thread.

Cheers man. It was amazing. You just gushed out some energy and laid it out. Not everyone is going to get it this time around. Give em time.
