Capto Iugulum

ooc: can I change the name of my nation? For example, can I call my nation Socialist States of America?

Nothing really stops you, but you consider the consequences of a name change. Making a change to something really stupid might get stopped somewhere in your own government, or by mod intervention.

The Socialist Republic of America (SRA) is being proclaimed by the Socialist Council.

ooc: For clarification, could you say what nation you're taking over? Are you taking over one of the Proletarist slave states? Or are you trying to turn one of the other republics into a socialist state?

He was Aztlan I think?
My comment is that being the 'X of America' as Aztlan is a bit odd as Aztlan is not and probably does not want to be American.

ooc: Yes, but I try to make Aztlan from a nationalist Aztec nation to an international American Communist Federation

I don't know about everyone, but to me that seems a bit OOC.
Also getting on Brazil's bad side as you have done is probably not the greatest idea.

The Socialist Republic of America (SRA) is being proclaimed by the Socialist Council.

OOC: Why Oh Why would you do that? You do nothing but earn the enmity of your neighbors. I can't speak for the Mayans or the Floridians, but going from nationalist Aztec state, to some sort of Proletarist revolutionary state, is bound to provoke a response from your saner neighbors.

ooc: I was thinking that it would be something like Russia becoming USSR. The same nation, but they had an international name.

Welcome to the Revolution, christos! Please enjoy the complimentary international and intranational beatdown, commencing... Right about now.

Christos, in NESes, you are meant to play In Character. Aztlan's government is not run by socialists, but by a military dictator who is said in the stats to be moderate. Therefore for you to make Aztlan communist is not In Character, and would be generally frowned on by everyone. If you want to be an American communist nation, you should take the Mississippi or the Appalachian Proletarists, or you could take Ecuador; but taking Aztlan and making it become communist just for the single reason that you want it to is not considered to be reasonable in a NES.

I agree that the Aztecs going socialist is not IC at all. IC, it invites the enmity of the Grand Republic of Florida (which is OTL Texas, your northern neighbor), at at some point in the future, will lead to a confrontation.

Well Aztecs turning communist is OOC currently. You can play Aztecs and show how slowly the communist come to power (and explain it well) through several turns. But just turning your government around in a day is a strange thing, and EQ won't let you anyway.

I believe it has already been decided, but you can vote anyway and if it's to late then it's to late.

I will be in California starting tomorrow until the 15th of August.

I will have some internet access (likely an hour a day at most, if I am lucky).

So to summarize what everyone's saying Christos, if you want to turn Aztlan into a Proletarist State (we typically refer to governments of that type as 'Proletarist' in this timeline), then you have to slowly make changes over a series of years, or alternatively, join as a state that is already Proletarist.

In ABNW, I played a nation that started off as a democratic rebellion, gradually became dominated by a single party, then underwent a revolution to become a Syndicalist state, then became an occupied by foreigners dead-set on fighting leftist political movements, rebelled weakly for a few years, then achieved nominal independence as a puppet state which gradually shifted into a semi-fascist dictatorship. Then it arbitrarily voted to join the nation it had declared independence from in the first place. So yeah, nations can change a lot, but it takes time.
