But the two you mentioned don't have Orthodox chants, one will probably not be in the game ever because of Georgia, and I don't have a clue about Bulgaria's chances. I see your point, though.
Well Russia does have chanting in the Atomic Era theme, though not Orthodox chanting.

It's certainly fair to say there are a limited number of Orthodox powers likely to be represented in Civ, and of those not all are likely to get chants for themes (e.g., Russia). Orthodoxy tends to be a little more obscure in the West because Westerners tend to forget it's a lot more widespread than Russia and Greece/Byzantium (and has historically been more so--e.g., Finland and the Baltic were Orthodox before Catholicism and Lutheranism came to dominate them from Poland and Sweden respectively, and a considerable portion of the population of the Middle East was Orthodox before the rise of Islam).

Does Borobudur count as well? :mischief:

The exact date that Candi Borobudur was built is very speculative, but generally it is an early (pre-1000 CE) Medieval Era, so useable in that time frame.
Just want to point out that this one already existed in the game. Kōtoku-in is the name of the temple that the Great Buddha of Kamakura belongs to.

Right you are - and I even had that in my notes, which I glossed over while extracting the title. :hammer2:

In place of it, another Japanese Wonder Temple:

Kinkaku-Ji (Golden Pavilion) or Rokuon-Ji (Deer Garden Temple that includes the Golden Pavilion)

The best way to handle moving a capital would be to make it a restricted decision that you can't do while at war. So, at the beginning of Normal or Golden you can move your capital to a city with a certain sized population, based on the era, if you are not at war.

Personally I would suggest the Great Buddha of Nara (or the Great Buddha of Tōdai-ji).

It is the world's largest bronze Buddha - built in 752 CE! - and the great hall that houses the Buddha is also the largest wooden building in the world before late 20th century. I'm genuinely surprised when realized that the Great Buddha of Nara doesn't get a lot of attention outside East Asia.

Two giant Buddha statues from Japan would be kind of weird all things considered, especially with the lack of great western European cathedrals in the game. In fact, the lack of great religious wonders is arguably the one thing in which Europe is under represented.

100%. The lack of cathedrals generally and Gothic cathedrals specifically is baffling. I mean, sure, the Norman monastery Mont-Saint-Michel is gorgeous and I'm glad it's in the game, but what about Notre Dame or Westminster Abbey or Amiens Cathedral or Wells Cathedral or Rouen Cathedral or Prague Cathedral or...Long story short: it's baffling the game has been out for nearly five years now and we don't have a single Western cathedral wonder in the game when we should have at least a couple.

Notre Dame seems like the biggest one to given the games emphasis on the well know plus the recent fire.

Interesting, there's been a lot of people speculating that Portugal being the last civ will mean we won't see another season pass ...
We'll see.

Eh, disappointing if it's true. And while I've generally enjoyed the fantastical elements that Secret Societies added I'm just so exhausted by the mere concept of zombies that this point I think I might not be picking up the game again until the April update or later.

At least you don't have to use the Mode... :shifty:

If Zombie Apocalypse is the last game mode, what were some game modes you were looking forward to?

Personally, I'm disappointed by the lack of more grounded, historical modes. A Great War mode to make the late game less dull and an actual economic gameplay mode would be my big two ones I would have liked to see.

Ideologies Mode or Colonies Mode could have been some.

I'm going to wait and see what it has to offer before I make a judgement. I can always pretend it's the pandemic/disease mode I wanted and zombies are just really infected people. :mischief:
