[NFP] Civilization VI: Possible New Civilizations Thread

Okay it is now 2am my time (the franchise always makes me lose sleep)

I have put together the Features Thread if I missed something or something new comes out please let me know and I will add it after work tomorrow

From the Anton interview:

"We felt strongly that having delivered two expansions since launch – Rise and Fall and Gathering Storm – the current state of Civilization VI’s gameplay systems, depth, and balance are in a great position, and that an additional expansion could add complexity to the core experience that we feel would tip the balance and overcomplicate the game."

That's too bad. I feel that after so much time the systems of the game have been pretty much "figured out". I would have been really nice to have something new to sink our teeth into, but looks like according to them, people mostly want new civs.

Yes yes yes!
Colombia, I hope they drop the Gran out of the game-play name, but still.

By the way, with also the Maya in, and already having Brazil, Canada, and other never-before seen indigenous American civs -
Are we getting a Colonization mod?

Yeah the country was never called "Gran" Colombia while it existed, it was just Colombia. After it split, that period in time was retroactively called "Gran Colombia". That said, many of the current civs are being named by their exonyms and/or retroactive names, so it wouldn't be so out of order to call them that. I guess it is also less controversial given the recent invasions on Venezuela by mercenaries coming from Colombia.

As a Venezuelan living in Venezuela, i'd be offended if they DO NOT add the "Gran" in the title, specially if it's lead by Bolivar. If they just make it Colombia, then it'll feel like they're only putting in Colombia and ignoring Venezuela (and Ecuador but no one cares about them).

(Btw USA is NOT to blame for our current situation, 20 years of bad government are. No one gives a **** about the "invasion" other than the dictatorship. If anything the majority wishes we got one. A proper takeover)

Really do not understand what you are all excited about. Looks very much like a horse armour DLC to me...

Someone start up a Screenshot Analysis thread. I'm a bit tied up to be hunting screenshots down at the moment.

And this, from the interview:

"Some of the disasters you’ll be able to see coming, but others will be unavoidable! The most damaging and unpredictable disasters, though, are only in a game with Apocalypse mode, and they are not common until climate change reaches its final level. A very fun part of this mode is the new Soothsayer unit, available in the early game, which can actually trigger disasters. So that’s one way you can see a disaster coming. If an enemy sends a Soothsayer your way, watch out!"

Oh wow! I can see some players really NOT liking this at all but it really sounds fun!

I love the way this design lets them go completely nuts while making it something you can just toggle on or off!

A bunch of sites have the file labelled as 'Bermuda Triangle'. It's also a triangular feature in ocean, so it's a fairly safe bet.

hehe ok you're quite right, the PCgames articles DOES have the label bermuda triangle on the picture, so I guess it's confirmed... thx ;-)

This been posted yet? From Steam.

Edit: ignore this, it's in the very first post :crazyeye:
I have just noticed Kveten in Czech is may and in polish kwiecień is April... it's like "listopad" which is in Croatian October, and in Polish it's November :D:D:D

I am somewhat disappointed with this. Another bunch of civs, leaders and builders. But very little in meningful new mechanics. Or modding options (which could create those new mechanics).

But people here seem overjoyed so I guess they made the right choice...

A horse armor DLC would mean something is a purely cosmetic addition.

Not to mention at 39.99 it is the price of a regular expansion pack, and even when divided into 8 DLCs it's still a pretty darn good price.

To me the difference is do i want the Mayans nor or next year when the rest of it is done.

I'm pretty sure the new "modes" are mechanics, or they would have just called them scenarios.
