Trump is getting even more desperate and more public in his desperateness. @Berzerker @onejayhawk What do you think of your guy and his attempts to over throw the election?

‘I just want to find 11,780 votes’: In extraordinary hour-long call, Trump pressures Georgia secretary of state to recalculate the vote in his favor

In a phone call on Saturday, President Trump insisted he won the state and threatened vague legal consequences. Here are excerpts from the call. (Obtained by The Washington Post)

Do you recognize Jesus as a historical divine being?
There are so many to choose from!
I don't like the white ginger one who looks like a Highland hippy. He looks like he snuck out of a Covid medi-hotel in his smock.

Devin Nunes: US Medal of Freedom goes to top Trump ally

US President Donald Trump has presented the Medal of Freedom to Devin Nunes, one of his most vocal defenders.

The White House applauded Mr Nunes for his defence of Mr Trump during investigations into the president, and praised his "unwavering resolve".

The award is the highest honour a US president can bestow on a civilian.

Golfer Tiger Woods, radio personality Rush Limbaugh and posthumously Elvis Presley are among those who have received the honour from Mr Trump.

As the top Republican on the powerful House Intelligence Committee, Mr Nunes repeatedly rebuked the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 US election and - like the president - called it a "witch hunt".

Mr Nunes, a California Republican who has served in Congress since 2003, was widely criticised after he shared classified information about the Russia investigation with the president and the media before briefing his colleagues.

The Medal of Freedom was established in 1963 by President John F Kennedy and is typically awarded to those who have made "'meritorious contributions' to security, US national interests, to world peace... or other significant endeavours".

The distinction - which is not reserved for US citizens - has been bestowed in the past on public figures like Mother Teresa and former UK Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.

Incoming president Joe Biden received the award in 2017 - as vice president - and will become the first Medal of Freedom recipient to become president.

Mr Nunes is the 20th honouree of the Trump White House.

Devin Nunes turns on Trump in 5... 4... 3... 2...

Huh? Why? He is holding out for a blank-check pardon and a meaningless but presumably lucrative federal board position?

Republican Lauren Boebert vows to carry handgun to Congress

A newly elected congresswoman has pledged to carry a Glock handgun during her term in Washington DC.

In a video released on Sunday, Republican Lauren Boebert is shown loading a handgun before walking around the city.

"I will carry my firearm in DC and in Congress," she says in the video, which has been viewed over two million times.

But the city's police chief has said he plans to speak to Ms Boebert about the strict rules on carrying firearms.

Ms Boeber owns a restaurant called Shooters Grill in the town of Rifle, Colorado, where members of staff are encouraged to openly carry weapons, as is permitted under the state's laws.

The issue of gun rights formed a key part of her campaign for last November's election.

"Even though I now work in one of the most liberal cities in America, I refuse to give up my rights," Ms Boebert says in the video posted on Twitter on Sunday.

"So as a five-foot tall, 100-pound woman I choose to protect myself legally, because I am my best security."

But police were quick to respond, with Washington DC Police Chief Robert Contee III telling reporters: "That Congresswoman will be subjected to the same penalties as anyone else that's caught on the DC streets carrying a firearm."

While the US constitution enshrines the people's right to keep and bear arms, the rules governing this vary.

Members of Congress are allowed to keep firearms in their offices and transport them in Washington DC, as long as they are not loaded.

However, a permit is needed to carry a gun through the city's streets and weapons from other states must first be registered with local authorities.

Last month, a group of Democratic senators proposed new legislation to tighten existing rules for members of Congress.

He is going to get the Meal Medal of Freedom. I wonder if Biden could ask for it back.

I wonder what Devin Nunes's cow has to say about this development.

Baiting people with petty rules and slapping them when they snap is time honored crap baggery. Hopefully the congresscum mostly hurt each other for a change.

Iam guessing its to purchase Nunes silence post presidency.
As other state republicans have shown to have made recording of Trumps criminal requests to produce ballots to overturn the election. It wouldnt suprise me if there are more Trump recordings that will eventually be reveled.

I'd love to see them on CSPANN descend into a bloodbath of a RL combination of attempted WWE/MMA combat, with simultaneous gun battles... please, please, let that happen.

But then I realize that none of that is going to give me anything meaningful back that I've lost... but I'll take a break from god, and have a go at hating them instead... may they die in flames... or at least get black eyes and have to go to the hospital... contract covid (if they don't wear masks)... and die... with or without the flames.

**** 2020. I'm just glad its over. I have tears left, but I don't want to spend anymore on that ***** up year.

Ah, indeed. Yeah, I was reading that the reaction of one (Republican) congressperson was 'that Georgia call wasn't half as bad as a few calls I've had with Trump'.

By keeping the majority of his supporters whipped up into a frenzy, he's retaining the one bit of leverage that will keep those sorts of recordings from coming out starting in February. But he needs a better hook going forward, the stolen election wad has been shot since claiming secret evidence would mean it didn't get offered in the fifty court cases where it would have mattered.

Unless... he claims it was just discovered recently. Like right before the inauguration...

We maybe headed for a Congress that is more like UK House of Commons, and ultimately the bad old days of brawls on the floors of Congress.

So, Lauren Boebert might actually need to use her Glock in Congress.
Does every member of Congress have the constitutional right to return fire?

As far as I'm aware, no one is allowed to openly bear arms in DC.

Keep the flames and toss in for good measure the registered party members and their international buddies. Boil up some real crap stew.

AFAIK, members of Congress can keep unloaded firearms in their offices and transport them around DC.
So, unloaded gun in one pocket, ammo in another sounds acceptable. Or is that proscribed?

I've no idea. I'm not actually American.
