Okay, looks like you guys wanted to be sure I had some fun, seeing how we're on Diety and at war with half the world.
Hmmm, we can trade Inca horses, but they will only give us 17gpt for them. Still, we have 17 turns left on another goods trade and they are the only ones in the world without horses, so I figure the extra money will be worth it.
Final deal is we give Inca Horses + 1g while they give us 18gpt.
Although I really would like to strike two places at once, driving back two foes, I'm going to move the caravels to Mongolia. Better to do this safe and sure. Might even take out a couple of the Greek islands to the south if we can help it.
Went around to see if anything needed a little bit of Micro, but Niko has left the cities in nice shape, really.
IBT we lose a pike to a Keshik
1) 1060AD
Our armies kill a couple muskets in Ta-Tu.
IBT we lose a knight to a keshik
2) 1070AD
Oil Springs hits the 10spt mark. Kill a longbow and promote a knight. Kill two more muskets in Ta-Tu and the city is ours!
Rush a harbor in Centralia.
3) 1080AD
War weariness seems to go up just the slightest amount. Re-arrange some specialists, but no slider work needed.
Upgrade our fleet of Caravels to Galleons. Our armies march towards Ulaanbaatar.
We can trade Aztecs incense. I may wait for the war with Mongolia to be over with first and our port secure.
IBT Kawuka riots. I guess I missed one.
Koreans are building Universal Suffrage.
4) 1090AD
Renegotiate our luxury deal to Aztecs and pull an extra gpt out of it. They are still Gracious.
5) 1100AD
I was going to wait for the other army to come up, but our trebs did so well I attack. No losses and we take Ulaanbaatar!
IBT -- Spot some Greek Ironclads. Also, the Greeks have a galleon right outside the Mongol island. Hope whatever it is isn't too big.
6) 1110AD
Settle Lake Oswego in the middle of the Mongolian island.
IBT -- Greece drops off a longbow and a hoplite. Mongols drop off a longbow near our capital.
We discover Nationalism.
We can get Steam in 7 turns at 60%, so I set it for that.
Dammit, Ta-Tu flips. Just a knight lost.
7) 1120AD
Mongol invasion repelled. Greek hoplite, however, is a bastard and refuses to die. Load up Centralia with every nearby troop.
Spend all our money upgrading 3 pikes to riflemen. Army knocks off two muskets in Tabriz.
Everyone is willing to talk.
IBT -- Greek longbow kills a knight in Centralia.
Mongols and Aztecs sign peace. Mongols want peace with me too, but whatever it is that Monte's
-ing he isnt' sharing with me.
8) 1130AD
Tatu is razed. There is a settler on the way and I don't want to have the headache of another flip. They had their chance.
Boat over a rifleman and he finishes off the Longbow.
IBT -- Greeks and Aztecs sign a peace treaty. Well, probably because our treaty just expired.
Salamanca builds the Military Academy. Oh, this is rediculous. Now Ulaan flips. They just need to be burned, too, now.
Inca finish Shakespeare's in Vilcabamba. No cascade.
9) 1140AD
Greece will give a very minor discount on Steam, but it'll still cost us near 100gpt to get it. I think I'd rather continue researching it. Medicine's no better. So I tell him to fork 60g over and we'll call that good.
Greece, by the way, has infantry showing.
We lose a knight, but we capture Tabriz. I thought about razing it, but I'll have an army parked right outside in case it flips.
Trade Aztecs Silks for Incense + 24gpt.
10) 11150AD
Army attacks Ulaanbaatar and kills the spear, but there is one left. We got a knight nearby. He attacks, redlines, and wins!
Well, it took a little longer than we first envisioned, but the Mongols are no more!
I've left the rest as is for the next player and for our war department to mull over. We're still at war with Korea (who will give us a pittence for peace). I say take the trebs and a couple armies and get their towns nearest us. Most of the Galleons are in Kahnawake.
The settler should be able to found on Ta-Tu's ruins next turn. I had the workers road that tile to save us a turn in getting the town up. Basically, the settler should found S-SW of its current location.
I think I did a pretty decent job of MMing the cities. The Mongolian island probably could have better builds going than what I have, but I'll leave that for the smarter people than I.
No more Mongols! ![Party [party] [party]](/images/smilies/partytime.gif)
