Completely Dumb Ideas

On top of corporations and religions, also show dominant political parties. Federalists and Whiggs can fight eachother in the colonial United States, the Thatcherians can take over the UK, and China can be split with Nationalists and Communists. These will influence civics, and give bonuses or penalties for certain civics.

You see that cloud of flying brown pies over their? That describes what your idea is waiting to happen.

I got a better idea than ponies.

How about 5 brand new starts?

  1. 2013 A.D: You might wonder why is this a silly suggestion. It's because the world would be full of indies as well as useless civs that lag the game. Not to mention most of them would already have failed their UHVs.
  2. 10.000 B.C. We could alter the founding of civilization that way. Plus the Babylonians would finally have time to catch up to the rest of the world in late-game.
  3. 2.000.000 B.C. Who doesn't want to fight off China as the Neardental? Think about it, we could have Cavemen2Cosmos prehistorical era technologies thrown in!
  4. 150.000.000 B.C. Dinosaurs to kill off the entire humanity (if you survive somehow)
  5. The ultimate option. 4.540.000.000 B.C! Yes, you'd be playing as a bunch of cells for most of the time but at least you'll get to see Earth evolve as well as fighting off armies of nanobes, fishes, reptiles, dinosaurs and Australopithecus as the Prokaryote Empire.

I think I read an idea similar to this sometime back. I liked it then and I like it now!

New start:
August 14th, 2013
Every turn is 10 minutes!

This game already exists! It's called SPORE. (OK I admit, I sometimes play games OTHER than DoC!)

Firaxis: Sid Meier: Civilization: Civilization IV: Beyond the Sword: Mods: Rhye's and Fall of Civilization: Modmods: Dawn of Civilization: Modmodmods: 3,000,000,000 BC start: Modmodmodmod: Evolution: Modx5: Spore

I'll leave it to the marketing experts

Looks like someone's suffering from ... colon cancer *pulls glasses*

Isn't actually that bad of an idea, pity that it's unemplementable.

Anyway, Siberia as a civ hadn't been mentioned yet. Let it have Siberian Javelineers as well as Amur Tigers, Taiga and Polar Bears as UUs. Russia needs to fight it in order to colonize the land.

Also, add Toulouse, to represent the difference between Southern and Northern France.

We should add Magic the Gathering as a civ!

Spawn: 1993, in Seattle (or just outside of it)
Leaders: Richard Garfield, Mark Rosewater (or at least he acts like it)
UP: Before 2012:The Power of Counterspells: can counter anything as it is being built. 2012 and after: to the Power of Annoying Green Creatures with Absurd ETB Abilities: Your creatures are all OP because Wizards now hates blue and control decks and loves green and the combat phase.
UU: Before 2012: Crappy creature: who needs creatures when we have Counterspells?
2012 and After: Thragtusk: 5 Str, -40% when defending, does absurd things when it is produced.
UB:Until 2012: Tolarian Academy: +1 Gold, +1 Science for each building. Required to build ridiculous combo wonder, which wins the game.
2012 and After: Cavern of Souls: Nerfs counterspells too much.
UHV:
1. Have a really awesome game in 2010 AD
2. Have a crapton of money in 2013 AD
3. Have all new players be happy and all experienced players be really pissed in 2013 AD.

New Civ: Sliver Hive

Spawn: Los Angles(because Seattle was taken.)
Leaders: Sliver Queen.
UP: if any one sliver unit has a promotion, all slivers have this promotion. OP? It wouldn't be the slivers if this wasn't the case. Also, all units get +1 strength for each unit in play. Yes, this includes civilian workers....also, special ability of any created units may be used by all slivers(like how mace men have an Innate bonus against Melee, those are shared. Of one has a innate bonus to city defense outside of promotions, all do.

UU: they have none of the usual units, but instead have this list o slivers as their unit set.
UB: Sliver Hive. It's a forbidden palace, that gives the benefit of all normal buildings that exist at once, and is insta-built in any owned city. The catch? It's the only building you have.
UHV:
1. Have 600 units by 2050
2. own the Americans by 2100
3. Conquer the world by 2150

In the turn that is closest to 1970, but after it, a event will pop up for the player. this event is called "Liar"
The city it happens in has Zoroastrianism spread to it.
even if it's just one person who converts.

We should add the time manipulation before the future tech.

Buildings:
*time machine: you can build any unit you want (from every era, even unique units, even great people)
*crazy laboraty: -20% in your research
Units:
*Mad scientist (trainable great person), can perform one of these actions:
#Changes modifiers of your civ randomly.
#Can hurry projects (-100 hummers).
#Can attach a unit.
#Can perform global warming on a tile according to this order:
Ice->Tundra->Grass->Plains->Desert->March->Lake(city destroed)->Coast->Ocean (if surrounded by water).
#Can remove a bonus inside your cultural borders.
Projects:
*Black hole: destroys the solar system.
Abilities:
*You can change the date.
*You can change your colors of your civ.

Mad unit (unit attached with a mad scientist):
*Can teleport randomely at any place, at random.
*Strength changes every turn. It can be negative too.
*Can absorb a unit of the same tile at random.
*Can build wolves.
*Can spend your treasury.

Use by America results in the Soviet Union utilizing the same technology, which kills Einstein and triples the # of cities for Japan.

Unless a Mad scientist named "Yuri" spawn in Russia... if so, it leads to russian domination !
