Concours Eurovision?

more like so between cyprus & greece :)
Bah, you are the teachers and we are just amateurs. First of all there are more countries involved in your case - so we have: Sweden votes Norway, Denmark, etc. then Norway votes Sweden, Denmark, etc., then Denmark takes the turn and the train goes on. Second, you do it for quite more time, so you are much more experienced.

Seriously now, this one is the most stupid things in such concepts. I could understand it when each country participated with its own language (it was normal for Cyprus to vote Greece, since it was a song in their language, and the same could be said also for the Scandinavians) but now it is ridiculous. Especially after the collapse of USSR and Yugoslavia and the formation of new countries, it's a clear joke. If you want to see a real contester to the Scandinavians, just watch how the countries of former USSR vote.

OMG LITHUANIA ARE THE WINNERS!!!! OF EUROVISION!!!! SO VOTE VOTE VOTE FOR THE WINNERS!!!!!

(also, Lordi rocks  )

Does anybody world class compete in this contest or is it just second raters and wannabes?

Successful people are banned from entering, and I don't think many would want to, to be honest...

I only watch because of the hot singers. Looks like the Finish Metal bend is going to win, how dreadful.

Thing is... everyone is saying how heavy and stuff the Fins are... when in fact when you think about it they are pretty mild!

Its the costumes that do it.

I think people just want them to win to laugh/gawp in amazement.

But then again I hardly watched it and none of them really seem that good...

I'll stick to the Iron Maiden tenjewberrymuds.

Update: This is the winner ....

Congrats Finland .... I think ....

Yes they won, singing right now on my telly. Not that bad actually.

Rock 'n roll angels bring that Hard Rock Hallelujah
Demons and angels all in one have arrived
Rock 'n roll angels bring that Hard Rock Hallelujah
In God's creation supernatural high!!!

Its good that they won, perhaps next year there will be more bands of that type :)

The bosnian song was better though imo, but the finnish song was good too. Romania could have won as well.
What amazed me is that the lithuanian "song" got so many votes.

What amuses me is that the French came with song where the most important was the lyrics... and they sang it in French ! How did they want to win that contest in singing a song where what's important can't be understood by the voters ??

Well, the French song sucked. That's sad because I like a lot the composer, Corneille, but honnestly his song was far to be good and certainly out of all criterias to win the eurovision. Usually at the Eurovision, even when I like the French song, France does terribly... but with such a song it was already lost even before competing.

Last time I've watched the Eurovision, it was Ukraine who won it dressed up as cavemen. Now Finland won it dressed up as devils. Conclusion : the winner is determined by kids... they are the only ones to vote by phone from their TV. ;)

I liked the french song last year, but the language doesnt allow you to understand it since french is not spoken by that many people :/

ps: the greek song this year was very poor imo. At least last year it was lively.

Didn't you see the violin dance? I've never seen anything so hilarious. And since the whole contest is almost a joke anyway, I think it's fair they got many votes.

I hadn't noticed it was a dance competition :) .

Our song this year sucked so hard! I hate it and hopefully by next week nobody will remember it. Finland's was one of my favourites and i'm glad that they won.

Lithuania's song was pretty funny and i kind of liked it (don't shoot :mischief: ), Romania had a nice song as well as Russia. Spain's song was a bit irritating, especially the "tutti freeee" part.
