Console RPG Talk

Clan is level 3 only, and I'm more than 10 hours into it. Spent a lot of time, fiddling with the game, than playing it.

Also playing in conjunction with Disgaea, it's kind of perplexing to play two similar yet also different games. :) And I still have problems with the small screenie.

Sounds good XIII! I transed my main party at level 500 average, and then got them all a little past level 1,000 yesterday. Planning on leveling some weapons and items and then transing them again. Next time will be level 2,000. I hear ya on the testament. I almost fell asleep passing 'Weaker Enemies' last night. I don't know what the max is but I think I had to pass it almost 10 times to get back to normal. Wouldn't due to trans all to level 1 and not be able to kill a butterfly.

I did same, I played through Celestia and got the next chapter opened, but I haven't played it yet. I stole a Cosmic Blade and a Rare Cosmic Blade. Stolen some nice LEgendary and Rare equipment. Level 41 of my Cosmic Blade has enemies starting at level 781. :) Pussies.

I kept going to Prinny Land to steal the Testament so I have 8 now, but then I got an Exodus through a bonus gauge in some item. It is same as a Testament but the stats start out higher so the max potential is better. <sigh> I only ever got the one though.

I made 8 Prinny Gods rather than just waste all the mana at transing, but levelling them up is not a thing I look forward to. Bonus Gauge Boost + Prinny Day could give me nice stuff, but is it worth it? I dunno.

Gordon irritating? Nah, you're just jealous. He is afterall, the DeFENder of Earth. :D I like his voice acting but it seems like the end script is stretched. I dunno.

I had the Japanese voicing on - rather irritating I think. ;)

Wow, you're way ahead into the game! How many hours so far? 80+ in my case, but mostly due to my early wandering around and messing up. :) And doing 5.3 repeatedly is boring. I don't think I'll care to repeat that any time soon...

Stealing sounds fun; time for a rogue to be born... :)

Yeah, I agree.
I would probably pair my human Black Mage with a hunter, but that's just me.

Just wondering, how far are you in the actual game? My clans around 7 or 8 and I did about that many of the main plot line missions. I only have about 17 hours in it as well.
After further reading of the class FAQ, I've decided on thus... I'm keeping no.2 after all and getting rid of the thief and beastmaster - my white mage can make a far better beastmaster - which he is right now, till he can to be a sage. :) No point in having a thief if my XIII is going that way too.

1) XIII - Fighter/ninja
2) Human - Hunter/paladin?
3) Human - Black mage/Illusionist
4) Montblanc - Black mage/Time mage/White mage?
5) Moogle - Gunner/Mog knight
6) Viera - Sniper/assassin
7) Bangaa - Templar/Bishop or maybe dragoon...
8) Nu Mou - White mage/Sage

:D

Now 16 hours into the game - but highest level is at 10, and clan is at 5. Yeah, I'm slow... :p

You played six hours in one day? Do you not have work on Monday or something? ;)

My highest level is 17, but he's all alone (he's my white mage). Everyone else is around the 11-13 range. Marche is easily my strongest, he usually dishes out at least 50 dmg, usually around 70.

D'oh! I'm actually closer to 19 hours into the game... damn I'm slow. :)

But it's nothing, compared with the 85 hours or so I've dumped into Disgaea over 3-4 weekends. :yeah:

Hey! That's how much time I've spent on FFTA so far! :yeah:

Wow I wish I had more time to play. Stupid school. :(

Yeah, I played during lunch too; shld I happen to bring it to work. :D

School was the best time of my life. Except for the 16 hours I had classes per week, the rest was gaming time. :yeah:

PS Referring to university here...

Games are non-existant at my school. I mean, I know quite a few who have gamecubes, and appearantly Halo is very popular, but no one ever really talks about them at school. Bringing my GBA to school would be unthinkable. Sometimes I think my school is a little bit too serious.

Can't wait 'till college though, because that will be fun (not the applying part, that will and already is hell)

Otherwise, I can only get about one or two hours a day for gaming, unless I'm really busy or something.

@floppa - Oh yeah, have we figured out the story on the created characters transmigration yet? Do they get bonuses fr 'stored levels' or simply those of their new chosen class, despite how many times being trans?

As for FFTA, made some more progress last night. :) XIII is now a thief, but with fighter skills. :D The rest are progressing well too. My evil plan is coming to fruitation...

Don't know if this is for PS2 or not, but XIII, have you played Golden Sun?

My friend has it for the Game Boy Advance

Yeah, I'll eventually have to make my Marche a thief as well. That will be painful, no longer having him do 60+ damage...

I got a sage now though, learning two beastmaster skills was easy enough, and sages are pretty damn strong. Montblanc's moved up to Juggler, and I have a hunter as well. I even captured an antlion (at 12% accuracy :D ) and fed him a few potions and stuff. I don't know what the purpose of this is though.

The game is only for GBA. Never played it, but it's like the GBA equivalent of Final Fantasy (most people don't consider FF to be part of the true FF series)

Logically, I think ultimately you can bring it into battle with you... ;) Like in Legend of Mana, another Square game but for the PSX...

Sort of... I think that if you have a morpher, he can morph into one of the creatures at the bank. What I don't get is the feeding part.

Antlion (forgot it's name): Grrr... (what are you staring at?)

Give Item: Potion
Give Potion to Antion?
Marche: He seems to like it
Antlion jumps up and down on screen.

:crazyeye:

If it works like in Legend of Mana, giving it different types of food (items in this case) will boost different stats. ;)

Also like raising the 'pigs' in .hack. Hmmm....

Goldern Sun Rules! Thats all I have to say. When I was buying FFTA I could get it for $19 if I traded n my two golden sun cartages, but I love that game soo much, I did not, instead spending $60 for FFTA. I would say that GS is very different from the Final Fantasy Games I have played, each charicter has an element assigned to them, but through the use of Dijinn you can change these, and thier moves. This game posesses the BEST graphics for any GBA game, the battle system is rather good, but the story falls a little in some places (as wel as some mad summons, like Catastrophie). I managed to get 80, thats right, 80 hours out of both games before I had completed it.

As for FFTA, I started again, this time working on my original party I gt at the begining. I have just defeated Ultima, and my party looks like this...

Zhuge (Protagonist)
Thief/Palidin - lvl 9

Human
Blue Mage/White Mage - lvl 10

Baanga
Dragoon - lvl 10

Montblanc
Time Mage/Black Mage - lvl 9

Veera
Assassin - lvl 10

Nu Mont
Illusionist/White Mage - lvl 10

And another quetsion about final fantasy, do any of you know when the anime series "Final Fantasy Unlimited" was made? Just wondering

My FFTA is progressing well... my sage is now a Lvl 14, with all the rest trailing closely behind. Also have almost 40k in gold, and had just paid 10k for the spear with Cheer in it, for my templar.

My clan looks something like this...

1) XIII - Fighter (with 5 Fighter skills already and also Counter, and the Ninja class already opened up); waiting to learn the Ninja's doublesword skill, but haven't seen the gear yet... Same too for the Bonecrusher skill. Lvl 12.

2) Montblanc - Still a Black Mage/Time Mage. Lvl 12.

3) Moogle gunner is now learning how to be an animist... 'cause no more new types of guns to buy fr the store. Lvl 11.

4) Viera is back to Sniper, to learn all the Sniper skills ('cause I now have the money for it :)). Doubleshot is esp good. Lvl 11.

5) Nu Mou is now finally a sage... Lvl 14.

6) Templar had learnt Counter, and back to picking up Templar skills. Learning 4th one now. Lvl 11.

7) Archer is now a hunter; only learning 1st hunter skill though. Lvl 11.

8) Black mage now picking up 3rd white mage spell, required to open up the Illusionist class. :D Lvl 11.

Clan level is only at 7 though...

Also taking leave tomorrow, so will play Disgaea a bit more. :) Planning to subdue loads of Specialists this long weekend... :D

Sorry, took a two day vacation and went and saw the Manson concert. (good stuff that)

XIII, I have a wee bit over 170 hours logged. I decided to finish it last night and went the Human World route. Only seven more endings to go. :crazyeye:

As for the transing bonuses, yes. I did my Divine Majin at level 500 Genius and he got 10 points. I transed him a second time at Level 1000 Genius and he had 21 points. Both times I put all points into ATK. I now have him at 1700 and the increase in ATK is VERY noticeable. Of course, this is transing a Divine Majin into a Divine Majin. I did not change classes. But people have stated at gameFAQS that say for a cleric, they would start as a majin (who has weapon aptitudes of S in all categories) and once they learned Winged Slayer (for leveling purposes) would trans into a cleric for easier leveling.

If I had a Divine Majin who had transed say 10 times... His base stats would all be in the 70's or 80's at level 1... Wouldn't his base stats be higher than normal if he transed into a cleric or mage for his 11th trans? I don't know about this... Doesn't matter I guess. Majins can do anything they want and be great at it. They are the best characters in the game because of aptitudes all being at 120%. Some of the 'bonus' characters have a few aptitudes in the 130% range but not all 8 of the stats.

I only have four sets of 300 Statisticians and Managers. Thus I only powerlevel 4 characters at a time. I got the stronger enemies level passed 17 times and Cave of Ordeals 3 is working good for me. But I forgot to turn them back down and went after the secret characters. I see one with a level of 8,354 and I'm thinking how strange because a normally reliable guy at gameFAQS said this character would be level 2,000. And I almost beat him/her (floppa is spoiler free!) at the higher level.
