From what I've heard, Europe keeps getting growing pains from allowing the former Soviet bloc into the EU. Coupled with the financial crisis things'll just get worse.

I imagine Croatia's entry will have to wait until times are better. I assume the richer EU states somehow subsidise the poorer? It's amusing how many things are universal rights when you're within the same border, but cross it and suddenly redistribution is evil.

ahm, Bogumil not catholic, Croatia was under Hungarian rule most of the time, and we were in it just until like 1150, the Croatian coast was a part of Bosnia from 1391 to 1700 or something like that

You can also argue similarities with and influence with eastern orthodox churches, but alleged hereticism is not much more then 19th century fantasies

As Bosnia expanded into central Croatian catholic areas, Bosnians modernized and became same sort of catholics as all the others (both by force and without it)

By the time Turks came, it was 100% western catholic...

isolated area clinging back to early middle ages traditions, located between east and west, and went west with expansion into heavy western catholic areas and pressure from Hungary
