Aye, I liked evolving off random species, I didn't have a "plan" for a final creature until late in the game (like most it seemed?).. and it ended before I managed it :(
Evolution never plans :p

Yes, only at the end I decided to start moving to some species I wanted (The Raio... nm).

I would love NESse2 or NESlife4 a LOT.

Well I was trying to make a War of the Worlds, land based, jelloyoctopus thing ;)

Ultimately Daft, the important thing is that you pick a project that:

1. You will enjoy and not easily get tired of.
2. You think will have longevity.

As people have mentioned before, you'll probably get more players than you can handle no matter WHAT you run.

Please try and avoid NESes that are abandoned without warning, as this hurts the section of the playerbase that enjoys stable games. So it should be something that's easy to update and won't suffer from hyper-exponential expansion giving you an impossible workload.

Is it possible for Daft to run a NES that doesn't feature exponential expansion as one of its core elements?:p

In all seriousness do what Thayli says!

Thirded.

To be honest, with the hyper-exponentialism in Nesse, it was getting slightly difficult for me to handle as a mod.

Keeping our scope small would always be good.

And finally:
(vacation has it's benefits)

Daftpanzer, I realize Abaddon may have gamed the poll or something. I realize that potentially NESlife may not have won the most votes as it appeared to have. I realize that you have legitimate reasons for picking something else to run, and ultimately it's up to you.

But do keep in mind that since I started NESing -- that's seven years, I should mention -- I honestly have never had nearly as much fun in any given project (that wasn't my own, of course) than I did in the NESlife series. It's brilliantly creative, encourages brilliant creativity, and it fills a niche which otherwise literally does not exist on the forum. Let's be honest here, something like NEB or Nesse?... These are just branches off of the normal politico-warfare games that everyone and their dog runs all the time, albeit with characteristic Daftpanzer awesomeness.

I'm not saying you won't have fun or won't entertain a whole ton of people if you run one of those other choices. I'm sure you will, you're an excellent mod. I'm just saying that ultimately, the forum would be much the richer for an idea like NESlife; and the new outlet for member creativity would be wonderful.

That's all. :)

Well said NK.

Should I mention I contacted everyone who played in his previous NESLife games at this point too? :mischief:

...in addition to some who have never played any NES game at all? ;)

Um anyone with that hair has no right to an opinion! :p

Announcement: I have decided to go with NESLife4

For those who didn't want that, please don't hate on it :(. Yes, Abaddon was sneaky, but the poll was only part of my decision.
