It takes a lot more than just having the capacity to disrupt world peace. I have the capacity to disrupt many people's days by kicking them in the balls. I am equipped with sturdy winter boots with heavy tips to protect my toes, I have played soccer so I have a good kick all figured out, I'm slightly athletic, I'm male. I could probably kick 20 people in the balls before I was wrestled to the ground. The potential is there but nobody would call me a threat to anything, because I've never acted in a violent way towards anyone.

People are judging based on past actions here, not capacity. Sure, you need some capacity, otherwise you'll never be a threat to anything, you're right, but in the end what matters is how you act, and not what you have
Of course - I don't disagree. I'm just saying that, of the 200 or so countries in the world, only about 6 or 7 are realistic choices for "greatest threat to world peace". Hence it's not surprising to see one of those 6 or 7 feature prominently. You've only got a few countries to choose from, so you're bound to choose America quite often.

I would say your analogy should be that you also carry a gun everywhere or something. I.e. that the capacity not only exists, but is real, visible, and imminently applicable.

100% agreed

Here is where I disagree. People are picking America due to that country's recent history and actions. Notice that the UK or France don't make anyone's list, and yet they have plenty of capacity to mess with world peace, as they've demonstrated so very well in the past.

So while there could only be a handful of countries people could pick from, in the end having the mere capacity for evil isn't enough.

I hate this

What's the problem, Lohrens?

They're going to change the borders of the norwegian counties reducing them from 19 to ten in order to reduce bureaucracy. But they barely have any power anyway so I don't see the point in having them in the first place. Another pointless reform. I wonder if the names will stay in common parlance. I mean they're so totally ingrained.

To give administrative units more territory and people to administer, makes them less efficient

also this'll probably hurt jobs lol

and Buskerud can sod off [pissed]

There was a lot of talk a long time of splitting up Akershus, and I had finally come to like that idea, and now suddenly they do the exact opposite

Real wages up? What wages?

^Which is why this charade of an EU should die already.

I know that absolutely everything is the fault of the EU, but the EU didn't cause the global financial crisis, they didn't wildly overspend on the Athens Olympics and they certainly didn't lie to themselves about how ready the Greek economy was to join the EU in the first place.

If you're referring to the financial crisis, newsflash - so were all Western governments.

It might not have been directly responsible for those events, but it's certainly very closely linked to the capitalists which did cause them

Pay no attention to Arakh, he is hurt his own country is by a large majority wanting out (i mean England, not all of the UK). Maybe he should see a bit further away than his fish pond, where in other countries things have got a bit more dire due to his precious Eu ;)

I could equally say to pay no attention to Kyriakos, as he has been hurt by his own country's multiple ineptitudes, full stop, but that's hardly a suitable rejoinder, is it?

Well, no, cause (for example) i would on my part be a lot more careful if the situation was the reverse. Actually having to produce +3% budget surplus for the last years as we have, is killing whatever is left of the economy here, and that is killing people and the country. You, on the other hand, are just annoyed cause you voted to leave the Eu. Well that is tough, m8. Maybe see the difference.
