3000 BC or 600 AD start?

Thanks. Should be an easy fix then.

New SVN commit is up with various fixes, changelog:
Spoiler :
Fixes: Japanese 600 AD DoM text, fixed AI flips of human cities (e.g. Persia and Babylonia), Trading Company display and spawning settlers fixed.
Adjustments: Iran respawns without Optics, Less gold from silk route and trading company.
Other: you can switch to resurrected civs, Byzantine CNM expanded to the Balkans.

I'll soon include this into the packaged version and the patch respectively, but since repackaging everything is quite tedious, I'll only do that when my to fix list is empty.

The most important aspect is correctly working Trading Company "conquerors" even if there are no cities to conquer / acquire: you should now get settlers and the display should tell you correctly. I also fixed a display error that resulted in your civ not being displayed in the event log:

Also, you can now play DoC with Blue Marble graphics if you want to. See the first post of this thread for details.

I want that colonization thing!!! Can you give me a list of all the ones that happen?

Portugal, Spain, France, England and Netherlands can get one by building a Trading Company (AI gets it from discovering only the prerequisite techs for Trading Companies). The cities you can acquire or conquer are chosen randomly out of a list of historical possibilities for each civ. It's all explained in the Civilopedia by the way.

This all looks so amazing and I'd love to play it...

Is there any way this could work on a mac?
Thanks. But unfortunately it doesn't work on a Mac due to its custom DLL :(

With the changes above, tried Iran again. Chopped a court in Tabriz. Then State Church+Republic. Great spy contacted all existing European civs by 1620AD. Maybe a regular spy could also accomplish this task. Along the silk-road it is not a long way:D

btw, when Russia survives, it seems easy to get optic from them in the very beginning.

Started a game as the Dutch... Amsterdam's square was still owned by France, so I couldn't found.. then I tried to take over Kiel and/or Hanover, both independent, and I couldn't attack them. Later Hanover flipped, so I've got Hanover, Kiev, and I sent my settlers to America before I got Hanover so my cap is Washington DC (named s'Gravenhange) Maastricht (1S of Atlanta) and Fulton (1SW of I think Chicago) are my other two cities. And my conquerers died at the hands of the Incans.. bad bad bad luck.

Unfortunately, due to how FPK files work in conjunction with unpackaged art files, this won't work for the SVN version.

Will it work if I place it now, then after having another update, replace it again and so on? :)

No, it's because the SVN contains too many files. Unpackaged files always override FPKs, that's why the RFC specific art shows even if you download the Blue Marble FPK. You could delete the Routes, Textures and Water folders in Assets/Art/Terrain, but they will reappear every time you update.

Phew.
There's no way I'll try the Blue Marble then :p
After all, I'd rather stay up-to-date than getting some graphic lol

It's worth a test to see if the SVN->delete option in the context menu will prevent the folders I've mentioned from being updated.

I've uploaded the recent changes (including new dynamic civ names) as version 1.81. Unfortunately that required removing and repackaging some files, so a patch isn't possible (and would likely only be slightly smaller than the original download).

Also, I've made some changes to the SVN version so that you're now able to use Blue Marble with it, too.

You still need to download it (I'd like to have it as an optional choice).
