What's your folder's name?

Beyond The Sword / Mods / RFC Dawn of Civilization

im really confused since i know ive done this before. i had working copies of 1.10 and 1.11 on there, as well as RFCE

this is my process. download file. in this case 1.1. it shows up in my downloads folder.

i then open it in rar and extact it into the mods folder of bts. thats when it cannot find the path

so i think i figured out what i was doing wrong initially. i think that while id updated the svn for 1.10 many times, i had installed 1.11 fresh and then never updated svn for it. so i never renamed it as described in the initial steps

or at least i now hope thats what happened

ETA
apparently not

so i got the 1.11 reinstalled. opened it up started a game. worked fine.

went back to folder. updated svn, renamed folder. it says at 615. loaded the mod again. started a game. still no new civics or urvs on my advisor screens. should this be possible?

Make sure that the folder with which you want to play is named "RFC Dawn of Civilization".

yep. correctly named. it loads up and plays, it just seems as if the svn changes arent in effect, even though it spent 10 minutes loading them into the folder

Do you still have another folder that contains a different version of DoC? It might be worth a try to delete it.

did that before i had trouble reinstalling. deleted everything in there.

im not sure really. i go to the folder, hit svn update and it takes about two seconds says its updating the folder and then says at 615.

as opposed to the first time i did it and it updated 100 folders and took 10 minutes

i could understand it crashing or refusing to play or something. it just seems weird that it seems to be running stable and ignoring all the changes in the svn

Do you have it the My Documents BTS folder or the Program Files folder? Mine wouldn't work properly in Program Files but eventually got working in My Documents. I also unticked 'Read Only' but not sure if it did anything as updating the svn automatically makes it read only again

its in program files. but ive always had it there and svn has worked before....

ok fixed it. the svn, when updating, was creating a new folder inside the main folder named rfc DAwn....

so in my mods folder there was a properly titled rfc Dawn.....

and inside that was all of the folders assets, etc and also an additional folder titled rfc dawn.....and that one was updated with the svn but the other stuff was what was being drawn upon. weird right? but in any case it works now.

Good to know!

In the SVN Colombia (and sometimes, usually, Brazil) never show up.
In the non-SVN they both used to spawn always but now Colombia never does and I have to play as Brazil for them to spawn.

Go to Assets\XML\Text. Open all files in there and either make sure the <French> tags are an actual translation of the text in <English> (sometimes I have changed the English text of already translated tags without adjusting the other languages), or add a <French> tag and include a translation.

The XML files? Every text editor besides Notepad should do, I would suggest Notepad++.

If you want me to help, I could translate to Italian.

Thanks, all right I'm translating right now.

Does it only applies to me?
When you're finished, it'd be great if you could package and upload the Text folder, then I'll merge it with the mod.

Sure, go right ahead!

If this keeps up I might need to finish the German translation for everything as well.
