Dawn of Civilization - an RFC modmod by Leoreth

Another approach if the already mentioned solutions do not help is to start the mod by double clicking one of the scenarios in the Public Maps folder. If the game "crashes" again for no apparent reason, open your task manager and see if there is still a Civ4BeyondSword process running. If so, wait a moment (you can try to increase its priority). The mod needs some time to start on some machines, especially if you're running it for the first time.

There is a huge difference between the SVN and regular version regarding the time it takes to load the mod (after doulbe-clicking the scenario). That's because the SVN uses unpacked files, whereas the regular version uses packed files, which load much faster. (On my old computer, the regular version loaded almost immidiately, whereas it took a considerable amount of time to load the SVN version. My new computer is much faster and the difference in time is negligible.)

Wow, thanks for the quick reply!

Well, i do all the sugestions but the problem persist.

I have been installed my game in french, then i reinstall the game in english, renamed the past of mod (who already named correctly but i change by the way) and try to open directly in public maps. I check in the task manager as the Leoreth sugestion and don't have any process of BTS.

My impression is the BTS can't restart the mod, in despite of it can read the mod in the folder. My civ 4 is original, edition game of the year, released one litlle time befor the released the civ 5. Maybe the problem is in my game.

Another ideas?

The Blue Marble file, and instructions on how to install it, are on the first post.

Downloaded and installed all three. I get a "XML load fail" error and endless repeating popups that had something to do with the civic files (from what I could read).

I would actually have been very surprised had it worked properly. Why can't Leoreth just integrate them directly into the mod?

Important note for users of the SVN version: You can install this even when using the SVN version of the mod. This may cause problems with future updates, however. In theory, when I commit a change to file that was overwritten by this package, it will result in a conflict and the update doesn't complete. This isn't very likely because these files probably won't be changed by me. If it does happen, delete all the variants that are in the conflicted folder (SVN marks them with a yellow exclamation mark symbol) and unpack this package again.

You are on one of those "future updates" right now.

The thread you quote mined clearly states that it is only immediately compatible with 1.11.

Oh.

I'm finally installing the DoC in my game! Thank's all for help!! Thanks for the excelent mod too!

And i have a new question: How i play with the rebirth civs of america (colombia, peru, mexico)? They don't to be in the list of playable civs in menu.

You start a game as Argentina and wait a few turns. There will be prompts asking you whether you want to switch to Mexico and Colombia in a few turns. Congo means the shortest waiting times for Iran, though you need to skip through a pretty big number of turns for that switch.

As for Peru, it's unplayable as it's just a random Inca respawn.

Oh yes, it's the solution i have thinking too! Thanks!

Sad.

You can play as Peru by playing as some other civ (probably Argentina) with cheats enabled, then switching to Peru once they (if) they respawn. They won't have proper UHVs though, and their UBs, UUs, and UPs will probably be the same as the Incans (though you really shouldn't complain about the UP).

Somebody once wrote some instructions in how to change how often the game is autosaved, which I was quite happy to see, being stuck on a crappy pc, that makes the game CTD every hour. I had to do a fresh re-install recently, so I would like to change it again, I can't seem to find it anywhere though, the post explaining how to do it - can anyone help?

I distinctly recall someone (forgot who and where) talking about how simply deleting mercenaries won't eliminate the cost, but that you had to go back to the mercenary screen and cancel the contract or something. I forgot what it was, too, but I don't see any option for canceling contracts. I play on 1.11.

It's in Civ4Config, the same file where you can enable cheat mode. Just look for the right entry, I think it's autosaveInterval or something like that.
