What are you nuts? I live in the UK people have been arrested for what they've said over the internet.
Care to give specific examples? I, as an authoritarian leftist, am giving you permission to expand upon your speech here. I would hate to think you will put me in a position of needing to demand that you speak.

Nope!

"He does it too!" is not a mature defence. Even most primary school children quickly grow out of that idea.

Need I remind you of that other thread where you needlessly insulted someone despite not being insulted yourself? I even said to turn the other cheek. Your as bad as the things you condemm and the bravado to critisise others..for shame!

Telling someone to turn the other cheek and actually doing it yourself appears to be an impossible task.

I was reminding him of this own christian phiilosophy. As an athiest I'm absolved of such pettyness! Mwhahaha!

Anyway sometimes turn the other cheek is appropriate, the other times you've gotta kick arse:P

It needed pointing out certainly people here seem unaware, they've flung the accusation at the right while seemingly blind to their own actions. You want to tie the rights hands while giving yourselves free reign.

I'd prefer if people actually went about their business and didn't force themselves on other people at all, but that's not going to happen, is it?

I'm sure you'll recall my response.

Right, but there's two rights.

There's the pro-market, anti-interventionist Old Right shares some common ground with the contemporary (radical) libertarian movement.

And then there's the New Right, the Buckleyites, Cold Warriors, Reaganites, and the Bushes. They're anti-market, pro-interventionist.

Right of this forum?

Evidence please! Seems quite unlikely..

Based on political compass scores. I'm rather authoritarian compared to my peers here and somewhat free-market oriented.

Well, that's just in the American Context. France has like...4 different kinds of far right.

Looks like I found a specific example of these "leftists" wanting to tell people what to say and how to say it:

Isn't Mr. P just standing his ground against authoritarian politics?

Seems your specific example was hijacked by the strawman in the Attorney Generals office?

I consider "Left" to mean "caring about disadvantaged people", while "Right" means something like "every man for himself". I find this works a lot better than trying to define it along the axes people typically use. And I think that, secretly, most people define Left and Right in this way anyway, even if they don't know it yet. On this basis I'm on the Left.

If you go by the more "traditional" axes, then it becomes more complicated (and less useful). I really just believe in Liberalism, which happens to put me on the left in most arguments, and on the "right" in others.

by local standards, I'm pretty centrist, but in the CFC context, I'd probably be considered a lefty
