yes, we must keep evidence of our crimes - oops, I mean classified material - secret

What crimes? There werent any.

If people insist on deluding themselves to the point of being fanatically ridiculous about such claims of 'crime' or 'warcrimes' then they have truly leapt upon that zany conspiracy bus and are determined to never get off.

There simply were no crimes exposed by Mannings material he released. Zero. None. Zilch. De Nada.

If you guys want to love up Bradley Manning thats your business, but come on, lets not try to portray a goat like its a throughbred race horse. It simply isnt going to work.

our invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan were both crimes... I know you disagree on that (a lot of people do, especially the second)

Yes, a lot of people disagree with that just like they would disagree anything else so obviously incorrect.

But that was something that Bradley Manning didnt release - we already knew about the conflicts in those countries.

Another one makes the ignore list... Glad this thread was started. Saving me a lot of time in future threads.

I am a pretty open minded guy, I may not agree, but I support that we all have our own ideas... but some of your are just super insulting, and it isn't necessary.

Agreed. If you'd please add me to your ignore list, it'll save us both some time in future threads too.

And we both know thats not the standard of proof required to have put others in additional risk. There is no doubt that the release of the video inflamed tensions in the area.
So when shall we expect the President detained for creating additional risk and the inflaming of tensions caused by his order to capture or kill bin Laden?

those are some mighty fine blinders you got there, MobBoss

And not nearly as pink, nor as thick as the sunglasses you wear bro.

So when shall we expect the President detained for creating additional risk and the inflaming of tensions caused by his order to capture or kill bin Laden?

Actually, Jolly, thats precisely part of the reason why the photos arent being released.

I'm pretty sure the President could assassinate American citizens without it being a crime.

I would say it depends on the citizen and the reason for it. If said citizen has taken against against his country, and embraced terrorism, is he not his own countries enemy?

It would be nice if the second sentence were the case. Instead, the criteria is Executive say-so.

And thats more than a bit incorrect. Now see what you've done? You've gone and made me defend Obama. :goodjob:

Does that not make you as a lawyer at all uncomfortable? Due process and all that? OK actual enemy commanders such as our bearded mate are slightly different, but just going and assassinating someone who was 'probably' a terrorist (after all, if they were definitely a terrorist why not arrest them and prove it?' is a little worrying

Well, i'm not a lawyer, but I think if one is going to engage with terrorists and plot to kill their fellow citizens they have pretty much invalidated their citizenship and all that entails.

Bear in mind, I dont endorse assassination, and view what happened to OBL as taking out a military target, not assassination, so my viewpoint on this would be likewise. Nor should it be done without the intel to confirm their role in such terrorism groups.

Being a citizen doesnt grant you a free pass in plotting to kill your fellow citizens with your terrorist friends. Sorry.
