Good job guys :-)

Diplo, Wubba! I don't care if you have six exams upcoming, you can write at least one sentence!

I refuse to write orders until Wubba replies to my diplo.

That's not fair to Farow or the other players... just send conditional orders!

I am still waiting for two of the most important people this turn. Fizcat and The Holy Bhatoist Empire of Neptanian. I am also waiting for a few more orders but they are not essential to what is going on and they still have plenty of time.

Frankly I think jalapeno dude is right. A majority of players got their orders in on time so if I do not have your orders by midnight my time then too bad you are NPC. I need to get this update done before Sunday and this is the one time I cannot wait well into Saturday for orders.

You still have time but this is a warning.

give me just a little more time farrow, orders incoming

Fine. I will assume that you are ignoring my diplo, since you are evidently doing so OOC. It will be a fight to the bitter end, I suppose. Your end, that is.

Chronicles of Queens of T'lur Pa

Queen Sharia was in her finest green silks today and they glistened as the sun of the Spring Solstice balanced overhead. She spoke with stern reverence to the crowd that gathered below the low balcony:

Two hundred years ago Queen Ariana stood upon this porch and spoke of a great undertaking that would reshape our beloved T’lur Pa and the world:

“Water. From water our nation was born; it has been our life’s blood and bearer of our prosperity. Here, at the center of the great circle, where the Animas meets the sea lies the heart of the world. And we, the people of T’lur Pa will make that heart beat stronger. Today we lay the foundations of greatness for your children and your children’s children and their children yet. Upon this spot we will build the Well of the Ages and from its depths all the peoples of our nation and perhaps the world will draw knowledge and skill and wisdom. Its everlasting waters will bring bounty to the farthest corners of our lands and overflow into those of our neighbors. The bearers of the sacred waters will carry it to every village and town so even the very young and most distant may partake of it. And for those who travel to Waterside, the Well of the Ages will be open and they will be able to dip their buckets into its very depths and drink deep of its wisdom and knowledge. People of T’lur Pa, this is my gift to you and your gift to the world.”

The physical presence of her gift is complete. The Well of the Ages stands before you. Through peace and war, turmoil and tranquility the work has never stopped. From every corner of the known world we have collected what people know and how they do things. Our quiet scholars moved without fanfare or pretense to the far corners of the world: Dilhava, Hyoln, Ilion, Terra Trifluentia, Tereno, Tephen, strange Carran and even the mountain realm of the Sky Gods. None escaped our notice and attention. All that knowledge, all those ways of doing and making, manifold ways of thinking and looking at the world were collected and brought home to T’lur Pa. The story of those 200 years has been written, collected and cataloged within these walls.

Do you want to know how the Sky Gods raise what crops they can in their wintery lands? The answer lies within. Do you want to know how the Hyoln make their bronze or train their horses? The answer lies within. Do you want to understand why the Bhatotists believe and act the way they do? We have some answers here. Do you wish to know how the seasons change from north to south or the length of days in Carran in early spring? Or perhaps which herbs and plants are used for healing among the people of Tereno? All is found within.

But this Well is not just a place to keep what the world knows today, knowledge to be drawn out in small buckets by ancient, thirsty scholars. It is far more. Here is where we will train our teachers before they go to the corners of our land to teach the young. Here is where craftsmen will learn new skills and ways of making before they travel throughout the land to teach what is new to any who hunger for such knowledge. Our traders will be able to see what is sold anywhere in the world without leaving Waterside and find ways to perhaps improve those goods or find new markets for them. Our generals will be able to read about how other nations arm their troops and fight their wars.

The Well of the Ages will be a marketplace of ideas and thoughts freely exchanged and explored for the good of all. We will invite scholars from all friendly, peaceful nations to participate in the exchange, to meet our experts and share in what we, the people of T’lur Pa, know. People will bear the knowledge kept within, out, so that it may mix and grow in value and utility as it flows like our Animas among the green reeds of the world.

A Brief Look Into the Emperors of Tephen "Continued"

Emperor Joseph I: The first emperor of the new Imperial Tephen was a great man by all accords. He was the man who fought with his troops against the barbarians in the first incursions of the first century A.F. His campaigns against the barbarians hordes who punched into our lands where magnificent. His victories doubled the size of Tephen in a few years. But after his first victories he retired from the saddle and lived the rest of his life as a stay at palace Emperor. In his later years he began the building of the Echodorium in Teet, it was not finished for many more years due to lack of supplies and other problems occurring. On his death bed in 92 A.F he proclaimed his son Joseph II emperor.

Emperor Joseph II: He turned out to be a lesser of a man than his father in as soon as he had power he killed off his brother and blamed it on a thief and even pointed out a random man in the market district in Teet and had him executed in town center. After this he only ruled four more years as he began trying to change things and his own nephew had him killed off to great relief to the people of Tephen.

Emperor Michael I: Is the nephew of Joseph II, he killed him off and took the throne in 97 A.F. He is a lesser known emperor as he did relatively nothing. He ordered a couple of battles against barbarians and began expansion into the mountains west of Teet. His death in 112 A.F went unknown to the public for three months until the new Emperor his son Joseph III took command and told the peoples.

Emperor Joseph III “The Magnificent“: Joseph III was one of the greatest and longest living emperors. He finished building the Echodorium that his grandfather had started long ago. He began the building of great fortifications and new cities bringing Tephen into the greatest age it has ever known. Crowned as the Magnificent by his peoples after the success of many of his projects. He is now celebrated every March 15th by huge festivals. He died in 164 A.F at the ripe old age of 70. His son Victor of Tephen took the throne form him four years previous when he abdicated fearing his own death was coming and wanted to mold his son into a great ruler before his death. Before his death he and his son began building a huge statue in Teet called the Knights of the Past. This statue of three soldiers, one on horse back is to remember the past battles with barbarians and the rise of Tephen as the greatest Empire of the present and the future.

Below this Line is new additions.
----------------------------------------------

Emperor Victor I “The Converter”: Took the throne in 164 A.F when his father abdicated due to old age. He went on to build the great monument to the Knights. He increased relations with Terra Trifluentia. And even as in later life his title suggest. Converted the entire or nearly the entire population to Veneratio Atavorum. After he himself saw a great vision in his sleep. This also ties in with the relations with Terra Trifluentia. He died in 219 A.F at the age of 82. He however did not abdicate his throne before his death and for some time the future monarch was no known as he had two sons. Twins. Gabriel and Jules. It was later decided that Gabriel would be the heir as he was the older only by a few minutes twin and also better of the two in governing duties. Jules became High General of the Armed Forces and Head of the Royal Order of the Knights of Imperial Tephen.

Emperor Gabriel I: Lesser known. He was as we call in our timeline a sufferer of Asperger Syndrome. He was very quite during his rule of twenty years. Doing very little his father before him didn’t do himself. He did commission the construction of several road improvements. He abdicated the throne at the request of the Royal Order of the Knights of Imperial Tephen in 239 A.F due to his increasing medical issues. His eldest son Eric takes the throne.

Current Emperor Eric I

The Great Sea War

Keeleh

The small kingdom of Keeleh begins to grow very fast as its people begin to explore the cooler coasts of the north. Expeditions northwards find another island and there are rumors there are many further north. Keeleh also expands to the east taking much land.

Also, the government does invest into making a council that oversees "Aquaculture". It encourages common citizens to build ponds in their backyard and raise fish. Much has been discovered while raising the fish. Domestication of fish is becoming an art as many colorful forms are bred as show for the wealthier families and they do make good food too.

Lenis'jurr is founded on the islands to the north serving as the first major oversea settlement for the small nation.

(+1 culture for the fish rearing, -100 infantry, -4 ships)

Terra Trifluentia

Terra Trifluentia as of the conclusion of the Taruq Wars is building an empire creating an empire. The government of Terra Trifluentia works but as the country grows it does become increasingly regional and decentralized. The Curia has grown to a massive size never before seen and it continues to grow very fast. A more centralized system or some reform may be needed to keep the empire from growing towards fragmentation or civil war in the future.

Novum Templum Fraternitatis is completed giving the nation a revival in culture and the city of Fraternitatis is reestablished as a Great City. It rises to the center of faith for Veneratio Atavorum. Missionary activity for Veneratio Atavorum is also constantly on the rise as it quickly establishes itself as the dominant faith inland. T’lur Pa even begins to have a small minority.

Expansion takes place all around the kingdom. An army sent towards T’lur Pa however is halted because Kaldur has once again arisen.

(+1 culture)

Tephen

With the encouragement of the government the religion of Veneratio Atavorum becomes the dominant faith. All the various other religious minorities disappear with only Tephen Polytheism still existing in a sizeable form.
Also, they complete their project Hall of the Emperors which adds to the nation’s vast collection of great monuments.

Kaldurian Rebirth

The people of Kaldur like the Kee people they were once unified with were a proud people. Finally after years of tribal rule a great leader arose uniting the tribes and rebuilding the once proud city of Kaldur. The armies of T’lur Pa and Terra Trifluentia advances from both sides to find a reunited kingdom. Both leaders decided to respect their allies who have finally reestablished themselves. Kaldur was reborn!

(+Kaldur as an economic center)

Sky Gods

The Empire of the Sky Gods invests heavily in education and infrastructure. The educated populace is able to communicate quickly across the country facilitating huge economic growth. The Sky Gods have the most efficient communication and transportation system in the cradle.

The educated populace creates a more civilized society but they also begin to question whether the king is truly a “god”. Ties with Terra Trifluentia also begin to only further these ideas. A small part of the population may even turn to Veneratio Atavorum…

To the west the small peaceful but wealthy tribe is quickly destroyed by the Sky Gods leaving waste to the lands. All of the people are killed and their wealth plundered for the Sky Gods. It proved to be a much easier victory then expected.

(+1 trade economy, +1 culture, -1 confidence, +1 bonus plunder, -500 Death Lords)

Taruq

The rulers of Taruq decide now that the plunder has run out it is time to go on the move again. Taruq moves in on Carran their former ally in the Taruq wars claiming an easy victory. They easily move down river utterly devastating the kingdom and encircling the capital. All the hard work put into brining civilization back to these troubled lands gone in one swoop. Carran is not expected to hold much longer.

New Tereden

Peaceful expansion continues incorporating much of the surrounding countryside of the city of New Tereden. Another city is established called Rona to the northeast of the capital.

T’lur Pa

T’lur Pa finally after years of investment completes the Wells of Ages a collection of knowledge from the past 200 years. If it survives it will serve as a vast collection of knowledge for future scholars and historians to draw from. Since the Wells of Ages is open to all within the nation and even outsiders the country goes through a general advancement in all fields.

A city is established to the west of Cascades in an attempt to draw trade from it but it is not effective as most of Cascade’s trade comes from the Great Sea. (What do you want to call the city Birdjaguar?)

Expansion takes place on all fronts relatively successful but planned expansion fails as Kaldur reorganizes.

(-1000 infantry, -300 cavalry, +Late Bronze Age, +1 rural economy, +1 trade economy)

Hyoln

Hyoln pushes further upriver with little or no difficulty reaching the source of the river that flows through their kingdom all the way down towards Ilion. Some light casualties are taken by Vlakan raiders and the various nomads living there but the campaign is a success. The city of Tikururku is founded at the source to cement their claims to the vast northern frontiers.

The government steps up missionary activities with Du'alism spreading it to much of the people.

(-1000 infantry)

Dilhava

Dilhava is quickly becoming a new powerful empire in the Great Sea. The country has been actively expanding and isolated from the troubles of the other countries it has grown massively. Plus the peninsula which it sits up is truly an advantageous trading position. The only problem is most of the trade has been oriented further north but as warfare came to that region many merchants looked south.

The government took advantage of this heavily investing into the countries trade and merchant fleet. The cities of Condra and Vallhalla rise to centers of trade. Some large scale expansion takes place along the coastline. Explorations south reveal much of the landscape with the help of the native tribes. The country also joins the Allied Bhato League finding itself with a choice to save its alliance or assume control over the power of the Bhato faith.

(+2 economic centers, +1 urban economy, -500 infantry, -100 cavalry)

The Great Sea War

Effective immediately, the Holy Bhatoist Empire of Neptanian and the Kingdom of Tereno are in a state of war, for your unprovoked aggression against the sovereign Duchy of Fizcat. Remember for future reference, rejecting a religion is not the same thing as oppressing it.
-Declaration of War, Tereno

The Great Sea was always dominated by the Corenwal and her predecessors in trade and naval supremacy. As the Holy Bhatoist Empire established itself on the ashes of Corenwal it took to expanding its colonial empire and spreading the Bhato faith. Fizcat suppressed all other faiths including Bhatoism which angered the religious leaders. So a crusade was declared against Fizcat. The neighbors of the Empire began to worry the Bhato dominance of the sea may lead to their demise. Tereno joined in declaring war on the Holy Bhatoist Empire. Ilion had conspired to help but failed to send help.

We will begin with the Fizcat campaign which turns the small peninsula into a bloody and ruined mess as the armies of the crusaders “purify” the landscape. The Bhatoist moved their army unaware of the dangers at home to destroy the Fizcathian Atheists and revive the small Bhato population. The Bhatoists score some major early on victories which may have in the end lead to their failure in the Bhatoist Crusades.

The Bhatoists fresh from their victory and sacking of Fizcat launch a flash attack to the south quickly overwhelming the defenses. The countryside led by the Purple Cloaks leads a guerilla resistance doing some damage and slowing the advance north. The army just kills everyone which does help getting rid of the resistance but many still hide in the nearby hills and forests.

A small minority of oppressed Bhatoists rise up and aide the crusaders. A revenge by them is extracted on the civilian population without mercy killing the Athiests if they do not convert. Most of the atheists refuse spurred on by government agents (Purple Cloaks) in hiding to refuse. Ultimately this leads to their demise as thousands are slain if they refuse. Of course they resist but with such a determined and hostile enemy the south and central Fizcat are literally depopulated of the atheists as they either flee to safety or are killed. Not to mention that Fizcat already has a tiny population to begin with. The army heads east cutting off the capital from the rest of the country. They encircle and capture the city of Ashayl continuing their purifying rampage. They are slowed by the continous traps and hostile population in the countryside. Much of the troops are attempted to be pulled from Fizcat but Tereno sinks any vessal sort of hurting their ally Fizcat more then helping. Now a large army under a general is stuck in a country. He retreats to the southern half of the peninsula which is much easier to control establishing Bhato Fizcat. He sets up capital in Fizcat which is now largely Bhato or forced coverts. The Duchy of Fizcat does launch several attacks but the armies of the Allied Bhato League are simply too large to break and now they are on the defense. They are likely to be slowly worn down by Tereno once they arrive in force.

Now to the Tereno attack which this time could be called a betrayal or at least some evil diplomatic cover up. Tereno declared they had no intentions of getting involved or intervening just continued peaceful relations. Things were different then what the government stated. The King of Tereno was told by most of his advisors that Fizcat was a distant threat because of their intolerant faith and right now did not have the means to spread it. However not only was the Allied Bhatoists League an immediate threat much could be gained through their conquests. So war was declared with the intentions of ending the Bhatoist Crusades once and for all.

Of course war between the two major colonial and trading empire hurt trade for both nations.

The navy of Tereno quickly overwhelmed their enemies fleet moving on Corenwal easily taking the lightly defended city. Tampla did honor their alliance but found them alone with much of their forces in Fizcat against Tereno. Half of their nation fell quickly to Tereno including their capital.

The armies proceded making a knockout blow to Fretania Island quickly occupying and destroying whatever remaining forces. The homeland of Neptanian quickly called up a large volunteer force but no attacks came. The new Scliani proved essential in ending the Bhato dominance of the sea replacing it with that of Tereno.

Things look bleak for the Holy Bhatoist Empire as their forces in Fizcat are slowly starving and their island empire destroyed in one swoop. Maybe Tereno will show mercy in a treaty if they surrender or maybe Dilhava will come to their aide. Who knows but this war has devastated Fizcat, destroyed an empire, and greatly weakened Great Sea trade. The war may be almost over but the two main parties Fizcat and the Holy Bhatoist Empire have been greatly weakened but once again something may remerge from ashes. One thing is for certain the control of the Great Sea is destined in Tereno.

HBEON

On a more peaceful note a project is completed compliing a vast collection of education creating sort of a renaissance like creation in the city of Rethalgow. Despite the chaos and war around them they have been able to sustain a cultural city in the middle of an oasis of war.

Ontania

The small nation expands eastward forcing the small amount of inhabinants into forced labor. The land to the east is slowly developed and has yet to yield much economic results but it is expected to if the country continues on a path of peaceful expansion.

(-200 infantry)

Huming

Huming continues its expansion south of Fakung and north of Sizhen reaching the river and both ends of the expansion. The locals do not actively oppose the expansion of Huming as it usually brings prosperity to the area. However a state called Shanxi arises to the east which may be competition to the rising star. Rumor has it that in the west a few powerful states have arisen at the mouths of the Great Rivers.

The project of To-Ra is finished turning the capital into a cultural center. General improvements are made in the kingdom. Rural economy and infrastructure are developed further. Communication is developed using a unique system the people of Huming have domesticated the pigeon for the job of carrying messages. If the country were attacked the armies would be quickly notified so barbarians for now remain elusive.

OCC: Stats will be posted in the morning as well as casulties for the Great Sea War.

Silver you had a brillant trap too bad Wubba went a different course...

Lord Iggy and Silver had some great orders.

Any questions or complaints will be answered in the morning.

Veno and Modlvi are powerful tribes. I have plans for them latter on. One thing they are not hostile :)

Also, I am going to a major change in the rules once again. Some things need to be changed as countries are maxing out their stats very quickly. So no update next week due to that and the holidays.

Huming Cradle

Nice update, but I could have sworn my project was to turn my capitol into a RELIGIOUS center ;)

It's also interesting to see how littleboots forgot to send orders

Forgive me, but I have to correct: my nation did not deliberately invest in education; it was the reconstruction of communication with the other nations in the cradle and the fact that the populace are starting to have better access to better materials at a young age that was represented by my eco points into education. The actual national government itself is very displeased with the public education rising. :)

Will fix. I was in a hurry to finish.

Okay, I understand. Will fix that in the morning.

Ilion apologizes profusely to her allies, particularly her brothers in Tereno, for not making orders. Life has been extraordinarily busy. I hope to make up for it next update, Farow, thanks for not killing my nation :)

hmm *sigh* ah well, need to measure Something's up. looks like I'll have to Expand my navy rapidly now.. hmm 10 eco now, 1 to found a city, 1 to project, a few here, and a few there.
hmm, about time to introduce the Dilhava sense of honor. ^_^ this promises to be a fun turn, no matter what happenes. and for the Hawks to shine!
Lord Iggy, Diplo Later, Once I see the Stats. depending on the State of our nations and the casulties I suffered, along with the State of your Econemy. though I will warn you, if we fight, expect a few Suprises..

Great update!

@Illion- Forgiven.

@Dilhava- You need not involve yourself in this war, in the interest of preventing further escalation of violence. We do not have any wish to fight you, but we will if necessary.

@Farow- Great Update! But the map seems odd.

A) What are the Pink Dots?

B) Why do none of the lands I've taken show up on the map?

Oops I uploaded the wrong map :)

The pink dots were way for me to keep track of nations I updated so I did not forget. I erased everything and saved but I must of gotten the wrong map or did not save properly. Will fix soon.
