Letter from President to the members of the Police Officers' Federation Minneapolis...

He says ‘terminated without due process’. This is a study in irony.Letter from President to the members of the Police Officers' Federation Minneapolis...

Do protesters have clear demands and goals?
"Black Lives Matter" is all good, but it's a slogan, not a demand.
"Justice for George Floyd" is also not much of a demand, the murderer is already arrested.
I'm not sure it's a total slam dunk that US military deployed with orders to keep peace and prevent violence in US cities automatically sides with the cops
Have you seen the national guard joining the protestors? a lot of them are not.
I saw video of a cop knocking an old man with a cane to the ground
So I'm thinking- for this to accomplish anything lasting
National Guard is a bit different to the literal US army, but also, I'm not necessarily speculating that they will support the protests and oppose police, either. Just noting that there's different rules of engagement, a different institutional culture, they don't have the cop history and ideology of inflicting violence on US citizens merely for existing, there's a higher threat tolerance and more training in general, the army may even be a bit less insanely racist than police forces.
I'm just really not sure how a general "prevent violence and keep the peace" order might be applied by a legit military with no history of internal political suppression. Stuff like passive physical occupation of space by protesters might well be left alone by a trained army that doesn't panic and freak out like the cops do, for instance. And police may well do things that are in conflict with the army's rules of engagement.
Like it's entirely plausible, very possible that they just go in and act like more cops, or act like they're occupying Fallujah. But there's reasons to think something else may happen.

If liberals and progressives owned guns and stocked the ranks of the police, they’d have been compromising with us this whole time, instead of vice versa.
