To me you seem to be implying that there were almost no black people at the protests which isn't true.

Some people should wear masks. Other people shouldn't.

You cannot defuse a situation while wearing a mask, it only escalates. That 75 year old bleeding out of his ears tried to humanize himself ... that's why he did what he did. The mask got in the way.

I'm looking through history for situations/methods where protesting actually improved things. There aren't that many, especially as far as ratios are concerned.

On top of potential idenfication and retribution, I'd like to point out that in the current climate, any assembly or similar movement (or protest) gets bad optics in the press for spreading the virus without wearing some form of mask. Bit of a no-win situation.

You've spent many paragraphs telling us how you'd assist the populace if the government went too far. I expect to see you at the protests regarding police over-reach.

I do have my job to consider. However that doesn't mean I don't help where I can. As someone who is responsible for city hall security, I have been providing demonstrators with information on the security gaps in city hall and I've been instructing my guards not to aid police in securing the building.

We all fight in our own ways.

Liberals are more afraid of the virus than conservatives. So, whether it's fear of protesting or fear of voting in November, this partisan difference is going to be a big factor.
Don't visit your older loved ones after you protest, but that's not something other people will know that you're doing.

Yes, but it's more of a 'what can we fine-tune, so that it's more effective' type of questioning on my part.
You might be too young, but we watched Occupy Wall Street completely fail. There are lessons to be learned about what's working and what's not. If people are going to stand up to rubber bullets, you need both constant improvement in both strategy and tactics.

That's true. The police are trained to coordinate to find what they believe are people leading the crowd at riots and arrest them. That why they have people with binoculars on the roofs in order to identify people who are leading the crowd and directing. They form pincer maneuvers in their phalanx as they march forward to snatch up the more "intelligent" people in the chaos. They know once the smarter people who know how to organize the chaos are eliminated then they rest of the crowd will become more disorganized and disperse.

There are only two types of humans, followers and leaders. The cops know they can't arrest everyone, but fortunately for them most human beings are followers. Only a very small amount of the population are smart enough and charismatic enough to be leaders. Just eliminate the brains of the operation and its over pretty soon.

Always baffled me why protestors don't account for this and take steps to neutralize those cops on the rooftops.
