Whether or not Fox News is actually balanced, they do not inspire me with confidence as to their lack of bias by plastering "Fair and Balanced" on the screen and then constantly mentioning it again and again.

Are you suggesting he be legally shut off the air? Or that people just stop watching him. Because he has a right to say what he says regardless of your opinion on it.

Regardless of Beck's rights, saying the stuff he says on TV is still morally suspect and irresponsible. Rational people also have a right to point out what a looney toon he is.

People certainly have a right, though I'd probably tend to disagree with them, but they certainly have that right.

I stated my opinion (Which I don't see many people disputing) that he has the right to say what he wants despite whatever idiocy you see in it. It wasn't an intent to condemn HIM but to state that he was wrong if he was saying to shut him off the air.
If he has a right to free speech, your opinion that he has said right is hardly arguable, now is it?

If its a private company, and they choose to take him off the air, they can. But that's not really relevant.

I think it would be a huge stretch to call Beck's words hateful though, to the point where it would be a joke. You have every right to think what he says is abhorrent, but it's not hateful.
I would certainly class some of what he says as hateful, i.e. full of hate, but that's not relevant either. I also oppose incitement to racial hatred or incitement to assault, as those are the tools of the hateful and small-minded, but my views are hardly on trial here.

I am not trying to "Put your views on trial" but I am interested in how you feel about it.
If I were liberal, I would tell you the difference between someone like Beck and someone like the WBC leadership is that the WBC deliberately to pointless demonstrations too offend people, while Beck says what he says because he legitimately believes it will do good.
Though I happen to agree with a lot of what he says anyway. Though I think the calling people Nazis is almost definitely satire.
