Update 1
It was the First Age. And of its First Æon, the Oracle chronicles:
It was with a thundering roar that Afaja died, his open shell split into upwards chasms, but Heaven and Earth were still equal to one and nothing; reign was that of the Abyss. The First Sun struck hole in the Afaja's fleshly Dark Beyond, and out sprang the Five Primordials, the first to come of many.
The First to see rise was the one calling himself Curator. Cast into ethereal being from Afaja's dying breath and desperate to preserve That Which Had Been, he formed Afaja's spinebone into a twisted mountain chain, which would be known as The Spine. There he would reside, secluded in Afaja's maddening shapes, and stay keepsake of what the rest of the world would forget.
The Curator watched and noted as a foul sprout was erected next to his home. He of course merely notated its passing growth. "Afaja had been life," he wrote, "So at his passing by the First Sun, Death had already existed. But so had life." And such it was. Matter coalesced and automated. This was the first account of Primanus' work. Soon, it grew to a murky shrubland of bacteria and funghi. Everything devoured itself through an inexplicable gore as explained by the outside viewer. But it was life. And Primanus watched it in joy. And so it came to pass that Primanus was the Second to see rise.
Afaja's skin crumbled, and the Third to see rise was the Annoyance, Thwapp. Uncalled by reason, he was present in mere being; in what world would he come at this hour. The Curator watched Thwapp in fear, for he was certainly the worst thing that could ever happen to his Memories, breaking vases and forgetting books, much worse than the epytomal Change or Time.
The Fourth was dead and alive, without hatred or rejoice towards the beginning of the Æon. He was the embodiment of no will, a simple attemp at even out the numbers. He would preserve the status quo. The Curator perhaps liked him, perhaps his keeping of things would cause the memory of Afaja to never disappear. Or perhaps he did not. And this god, Tsamnir, held the Scales and found them favorable if they never tipped, simply awakening at this hour of doom due to the earthshattering tremor almost causing his Scales to fall apart.
And the Fifth was not a risen, but a remainder. He was the last seen shadow of Afaja, hiding long from the sun, secluded in a hollow thicket of dark woods, deep in the underground. From there, he would come to the surface, feeding terror into those that feared his Coming; and he was to end the First Sun and bring the Abyss back to dominion over this world. Unseen, Borog waited.
These were the Primordial Ones, the First Five: The Curator, Primanus, Thwapp, Tsamnir and Borog.
By the Death of Afaja, the Void was not all done with, and the Abyssal Deep prevailed in scars across their lands. Even not chronos herself was established, and the Father of the Sun had not been manifested, even if his First Child had scoured Afaja wide open. This maddening oxymoronology was the premise of such metaphysical revolution.
But soon, it would all change. The Curator knew that the next Æon would see the arrival of Ceradus, Solonos and Artharax. It had already come to pass.
Such chronicles the Oracle.
Additional notes:
First off,
tell me if something I wrote is insane, crappy or weird. I'm writing this whole thing on a good deal of sleep deprivation.
For the choices of Primordials, I basically weighed three things:
- How "Primordial" they actually felt. Here metaphysical, cosmic and abstract concepts trumphed actual elements and earthly themes, of course
- How neat I found their application and in-thread personality
- How interesting their interactions with the rest of the gods could be (This was why I chose Thwapp - I admit he must have been a surprise for a number of people, perhaps even himself, but I chose him because I honest to God enjoyed most of his in-thread posts. Just stay low on the condom jokes, and instead stick to in-world themes, hm Terrance888?

)
- Whether they were Iggy (seriously, you guys all churned out some really good stuff, but
look at that table)
Both Solonos, Artharax and Ceradus arrive per Update 2, which is where I will metaphysically consider time to actually 'start', which is why Update 2 is the actual chronological death of the turtle and the beginning of chaos stopping being A Thing. Weird, right? Proceeding without time having manifested yet has stuff like that happen to you.
I welcome people posting stuff if they are disappointed. I know some of the choices might be a little unorthodox and the setting a little weird. I'll try to churn updates out somewhat fast to compensate. We have a
big roster of gods to cover.
As planned, I will, each turn, introduce at least one new god. He will be chosen from the queue of gods, simply arranged by thread chronology. However, I have changed a small thing about the introduction process: I will, as seen already in Update 2, hand-pick gods from later in the thread if I find their submission great or their presence important. So don't despair if you felt you spent too much time on this.
On orders
Do not send orders yet. I have to first post stats and provide instructions. Also, if you're on the list of gods that are to join by Update 2, you have to post a simple resubmission through a template I'll provide as soon as I can. This is to make sure that I don't just add some guy in a month when he has lost interest or when his submission is waaay out of chronology.
Additional notes on terrain types
Afajan spine: Mountain range of chelonian crust. Induces madness in the feeble.
Funghal fields: Shrubland expanse of tree-tall mushrooms carpeted with purple bacteria.
Plains: A simple land of little forestation.
Terror land: A vast thicket of woodland, casting darkness over tunneling holes. Hides a labyrinth of darkness in its soil.
Structure: Basically great things that are built by gods and mortals.
