GodNES - The Beast with a Thousand Backs

...for it feels that the world is its own birthright as the only creation of the beast.

Not entirely true, Merphous was formed out of Afaja's blood.

Have at ye coward!

OOC: In my gods description you can see my backstory for how the First Sun was created as its creation was glossed over in the introduction. If Angst decides he doesn't like it then i'll be happy to change it.
All shall cower when confronted with the Primal Darkness.

Not entirely true, Merphous was formed out of Afaja's blood.
And Borog was formed from the shadow of Afaja. Many gods, one way or another, are heirs to the Demon Chelonian.

Yup, edited.

All shall cower when confronted with the Primal Darkness.

Tsamnir finds this troublesome. Tsamnir does not differentiate dark from light. Tsamnir does not know how to cower.

Tsamnir doesn't know what either of these things are, which might be a problem when trying to compare them.

Yep, Solonos came from the right eye of Afaja and many more have come from his shell, skin, upper left kidney, etc.

EDIT: Ninja'd apparently.

EDIT2: @Tsamnir "If you're concerned with balance just join the side that attacks the other since they are trying to disrupt the balance."

Then you may do as you will, and I shall disregard you until such time as you interrupt my activities.

Deity name: Sythus
Embodiment: War, Honor
Player: KaiserElectric
Description: As the Demon Turtle died, from his blackened heart burst forth the terrible things of the world. Worst of all was Strife, tainting the prospect of Peace with the ugly blackened mark of War. Its herald was Sythus, Maiden of Spears, and the Almighty Bringer of War. Thrown to the ground, she turned an eye to the blackened sky, only for it to burst with light as the First Sun was born. The great light burned away the wicked aspects of Sythus, leaving behind a frail creature cleansed of evil. Ashamed of her connection to the darkness of the Demon Turtle, she fled into the woods. Coming to terms with her dark past, she understood that while great evil would come about from War, great good would come as well. Donning skin of metal, Sythus would dedicate herself not to any lofty cause, but to seeing the good come from the most evil of things.

Initially, Sythus took the appearance and build of an Amazonian, with a tangle of black hair and piercing red eyes. The cleansing light of the First Son burned the wicked aspect from her, leaving her exceedingly slight and frail. She now appears in a concealing suit of silver armor, with glowing blue eyes visible from her helmet. She also carries the spear of Krormar, formerly a dark artifact forged in the heart of the Demon Turtle, now cleansed by the same light which cleansed her.

Sythus is ashamed of her place among the Gods. While harboring a great respect towards Solonos for her conversion, she nevertheless avoids him and the others, fearful of their reaction to the demon-born goddess. She is most fearful of the Gods that watch over death, given her own association with the dead and dying.

First turn realm: Sythus creates a forest to hide within.

OOC: A god with an inferiority complex. Go figure.

Deity Name: Malek Bal
Embodiment: Dominion, Conquest, Pursuit of Power
Player: Jehoshua
Description: As the turtle died, and all that exists came to be, the imperative of rule, of dominion, of mastery over all that exists poured forth into creation. For the master of all that was, had perished, order had been unmade and the harmony of the beginning had been reduced to anarchy. The imperative of existence demanded a new master emerge to tame the chaos and rule over all that is. Thus from the anarchy following Afaja's demise, Malek Bal, the Enemy of Both Sides, the White Flame that Burns upon the Barrows of the Slain, He who's sphere is dominion, conquest, the pursuit for power and rule over all that exists came into being. For where purpose existed and imperative commanded, nature decreed that one would emerge tasked to fulfil that purpose, and impose natures will upon the world. Malek Bal, emerged as nature decreed domination and compelled it. The desire to rule that burns even in the souls of the other gods it its call for a ruler to govern the order of existence. It is Malek Bals ultimate essential purpose, the very font of his origin, to seek dominion over all that exists in order that the harmony of the beginnings perfect order may be renewed and anarchy put to heel.

First Turn Realm: Malek Bal beheld the world and raised from the husk of the world a jungle, from which he would hold court, and where in nature the divine imperative of domination would come to be expressed in its purest form.

EDIT; oops, haven't read page four yet. I'll edit in things if necessary. Please wait for it.

EDITEDIT: Should be done now. Please now torment me if I skipped one of your questions.

Ok, time to answer some people. I did not expect this to go to four pages overnight. I'm really pumped. The submissions so far are really great I find.

@Nivyi - just as a general FYI, Heaven and Hell actually don't exist outside this world yet. I will treat them as small personal "planes" whereto you can send the deceased of this world, however; so your concept still works, it is just different from that of the other gods, who might not have that certain concept of an afterlife.

@Terrance888 - I understand your god concept, but it's a tad too silly. A few slight edits of your entry would work: Name your god a name rather than *that* sound and rework his embodiment ("God of Accidents and Unluck" or something?)
.. @Terrance888, I just noted posts #36 and #45, Thwapp / Thwap would work as a deity name :)

@Bair_the_Normal - don't worry, I have no issue with a multitude of gods over the same embodiment :) I don't think you're too similar either. And if you were, you could work together to further your agenda or attempt destruction of the other out of vanity.

@Patchy and perhaps to all in general - My creation of the First Sun was deliberately vague, to just have it happen inexplicably. It's kinda hard to explain how something comes from nothing to begin with. I see it like this: We are writing mythology and even if your creation myth was conflicting with another, both could perhaps be considered true. Some inconsistencies are allowed; we're gods, after all, somewhat above metaphysical principles. If you want to have the world's creation story your way, you might just want to destroy the gods who disagree. :)

@Milarqui - the Five Primordial Gods will be selected upon the deadline of the first update. Then the rest will be queued. I'll try to get as many in as possible. :)

@Tsoate - of course you can :) (What would the god of Tsoate be though?)

Tonight, I'll gather all the submissions in a document I'll call something sexy such as Mythos or Book of the Dead.

Deity name: Madris
Embodiment: Goddess of Home and Hearth
Player: Magnive
Description:
Looks:
While Madris can take the shape of any creature that she wishes to, her preferred human form is a slightly plump woman in her late thirties, with brown eyes, auburn hair, as well as a face that usually shows kindness and warmth, although it can easily be intimidating, should anyone threaten her home.

Personality:
While Madris holds some affection for her all creations and those who inhabit her realm, her true dedication is to the concept of “home” itself. Her ambition is that every living being, be it creatures or plant life, has someplace where it can develop, mature, grow old, and ultimately die peacefully. For creatures, this means dens, nests, caverns, and the like. For plant life, it is places where vegetation has a place to grow, be it forests, grasslands, jungles, or something else entirely. While she does not truly disregard anything living, Madris’ greatest affection is reserved for those beings that can recognize the feeling and concept of home.

This does not mean that she believes that all should be quiet and peaceful. She realizes and accepts the fact that far from every living being will die peacefully from old age; Madris merely wishes to ensure that everything has some place to call home, a sanctuary where rest is possible, even if it cannot be completely guaranteed in nature.

As her realm is home itself, and not the creatures inhabiting it, Madris holds no dislike towards death. In fact, she realizes that death is necessary, although she dislikes the slaying of living being within its home, with the dislike turning to abhorrence if the slaying is unnecessary.

First turn realm:
The first thing that Madris will do is to create a forest, in which trees, bushes, flowers, and herbs can grow, multiply, and eventually wither.

Edit: A bit more in-depth :)
Spoiler :
As I looked around, I could not help but feel unsatisfied with this... place. As the goddess of home, I ought to be able to feel at home almost everywhere in the world. Most likely not in the realm of another deity, but everywhere else in the world should be a place that I could view as something akin to home. However, that was not the case. Despite being a god of this world, I felt nothing but a weak connection to it.

Almost like a whisper in my head, a thought came to me. That I should claim part of the world, and shape it to somewhere where I might feel at home, and where I might give others a place to call home.
For that reason, I began thinking about how I should use my powers. What should I create? What kind of realm would I want?

Almost as soon as I asked myself that question, I had the answer; a realm where beings could find a home. Ideas and images flashed through my mind, almost like visions:

The first thought that came to my mind was a small mountain chain, where plant life would be scarce. The same would be true for the wildlife, but that could possibly be made up for by the fact that many of the potential creatures might regard entire mountains as their home.

The second idea that I had was to create a forest. Unlike the mountains, this would allow for plenty of trees, bushes, flowers, and more vegetation. With this idea, there would be plenty of food for creatures, as well as places where they might feel at home.

As I was weighing the up- and downsides to each idea, I drifted towards my second idea. Even while thinking about the benefits of mountain chains, I found that my mind was already planning the future of the… no, the future of my forest; the first place that I would be able to truly call home in this world.

Even as I was still planning, the landscape started to change around me. The earth grew fertile, and grass and flowers began to grow out from where I stood. Trees appeared around me, growing in a minute what would otherwise have taken a year, with bushes growing even quicker among them. A river appeared, starting not even a yard from my feet, and the earth gave away to the river as I looked at it.

The forest continued expanding, until green, brown, and blue was the only thing in my sight. I could not help but let a sigh of contentment escape me. This was my forest. This was my home.

I'm quite certain that all of us overlap, to various extents. Certainly you may profit from all this life, Primanus, but do not forget that every beast and plant casts a shadow.

The Curator understands all things that are in the dark and quiet places in the world, and does not fear.

Deity name: Nargot
Embodiment: Goddess of the Skies
Player: Omega
Description: Nargot appears as a foreboding, gigantic winged reptilian with four limbs and two pairs of bat-like wings. With scarlet-red scales, Nargot is vain, territorial, and above all else reclusive. She considers herself above the gods (both literally and figuratively in most cases), and thus treats the affairs of the deities below as irrelevant to her. However, when Nargot feels her territory is violated, she will destroy her foes with her claws or fearsome breaths of fire or lightning. When Nargot has to go incognito, she can also transform into a redhead human female, although she has no other particular powers in this form. Good for when she wants to interact with the outside world
First turn realm: With the last remaining parts of Ajarta's departed life force, create a blue sky in the world to cover the entire world. With rolling white clouds, it will be a constant reminder to those down below that the heavens above the former turtle is Nargot's territory.

Spoiler :
Planning on also being a dragon goddess once life starts apearing
