GodNES - The Beast with a Thousand Backs

Is Afaja truly dead, or are we all just aspects of him in a pantheistic universe?

EDIT: Totally using that.

Is the cow truly dead, or are all the steaks just aspects of it in a materialistic universe? :p

Afaja is not dead so much as no longer a sentient, singular being aware of its own existence.

Tsamnir notes that some deities have given themselves titles.

Tsamnir now has titles as well.

Tsamnir is now the Apathetic Guardian of Black and White, the Eternal Caretaker of the Universal Scales, and the Illusory Shepherd of Divine and Saecular.

Tsamnir would be sated, but Tsamnir was never unhappy in the first place.

Didn't take Tsamnir long to start noticing other gods :p

Do I even deserve a title?

Life is the lack of death. Death is a lack of life.

Both are simply hilarious.

All this philosophy is boring, however.

Fear is a feeling. Not every living being can have feelings, much less suffer from the throes of fear. 'Tis I know, for I know every living being that exists or will exist in this planet.

Look, so far we don't have anything but primordial chaotic ooze. Let's not rule out sentient rocks being a feature of this cosmology just yet.

Deity name: Higen
Embodiment: Disease, healing
Player: Haseri
Description: Let us begin with the head. It is the skull of a bird, with a very long beak. The eyes are empty, but they see well enough. But is it? Look closer, the skull more resembles leather, the beak stitched shut. At this distance, the eyes take on a more reflective sheen. What is that beyond? Nothing? At first, maybe, but you have you doubts, don't you?

What does a god need with a cane? How can he know what a cane is? There is no one walking, yet. At yet, here is a cane coming from the cloak, which seems to be made with a form of leather with veins pumping blood. Wait, is it a cane? Which leg is the cane? All three look rather similar.

And then there are the hands. It is unclear where they come from, but there are a lot of them. Holes in the cloak appear and reappear, as many as needed. The arm grows, then the hands, then fingers, then more fingers on them, smaller and smaller so the god can do his work.

His work is very small, at the moment. He's trying to figure out a way to get around the whole life thing. He's very close to a break through, he thinks.

First turn realm: Below the world, there is a labyrinth of caves. At the centre, sequestered from interference from other things, lies Higen's workshop.

That's not what I got from the intro and I read it thoroughly. Furthermore Angst said that my submission was perfectly fine so you're wrong about the contradicting part, once again I suggest you actually read the thread before posting stuff.

Not sure if Angst will allow there to be more than one Sun God. He said that there can only be one Primordial Death god but the two applications were significantly different.

@Patchy and Shadowbound
Just a small clarification about this: I said I wouldn't like two Death gods both being Primordial, not that I wouldn't like two Death gods. I have no issue with more gods being the embodiments of the same concept or element.

And about the Primordial thing, honestly, I've since changed my mind. I no longer have any issue with two gods of the same embodiment being Primordials.

I'm still working on deciding the Five btw.

Is Afaja truly dead, or are we all just aspects of him in a pantheistic universe?

Who knows? ;) Honestly I like the concurrent debate. If you find it interesting to discuss, it's all yours to do.

I really hope you don't give up and make us all primodorial. Imbalance of power and status is good for role play. You'll make the most satisfying choices, I trust.

Affirms and approves multi-contextually.

:)

I just counted the number of players in the Book of the Dead (new name pending). We have 26. Wat. I won't bend in regards to the Primordials (Five and That's Final!), but I originally intended to get apprx. 2 players through the queue per update - it seems a tad small now. I haven't redecided at all, it's just that it might be a problem to the player that might need ten updates to enter... :p I'm thinking about solutions as I type. I have stuff tonight though, so don't expect too much thread activity.

Also, Terrance888, I'm considering your god's name Thwap and him being an embodiment of Accident and Inconvenience for the sake of the Book. Please correct me if I'm wrong and please edit your application if you agree with me. :p

My suggestion would be thusly:

Compliment the primordial turn with a mini turn. You have your first five guys who make the world, and then a mini update introducing 3-5 more gods, but they don't actually do anything in the primordial update.

Then every turn introduce 5 new gods. With the above, everyone is in by turn 5. Even if you don't do the mini-update, everyone is in by turn 6.

Deity name: Thwapp
Embodiment: God of Spontaneity, Inconveniences, and Annoyances
Player: Terrance888
Description: Often depicted as an impish creature with an impossibly wide smile on his face, Thwapp, or the exact sound made when a palm strikes a face, is a trickster to the highest degree. Plots? Plans? Bah. Whatever he wishes, he does. More a being of chaos than anything else, his highest concern is amusing himself, as well as aiding those which amuse him.

Thwapp is not a god of Accidents. Everything he does is deliberate, in an unconcerned sort of way. Thwapp is not a god of Traps. He does not seek to kill or constrain for a purpose other than amusement. Thwapp is a god of annoyances that inevitably show, and karmic events that inevitably happen. Thwapp is the god of inconvenient events that HAD to happen in a particular way. Thwapp is the god of tiny, inconsequential, yet potentially or establishing a hilarious moment down the line. And he just bop'd your nose.

Random nosebleeds? Thwapp. That last unchecked apple in the barrel? The only bad one. Stubbed your toe? Eeyup. Sudden decision to shove the person infront of you? Gotcha. What are we talking about again?

And whenever stupidity occurs and faces get palmed, Thwapp's laughter echoes in the ether as he finds more fun to be had.

Origin: Some unimportant fluids or body parts or skin or whatever merges with the chaotic border between the first day and the first night.

First turn realm: A seemingly flat field pockmarked with tiny burrows and holes, perfect for twisting ankles and breaking nails. This field will be placed beside other more normal fields. Mwahahaha.

Thwapp submission edited and reposted. Original post contains the fruit info and original submission.
