Gr7 - AWM vs 30 civs on a giant map

Agree on the push to avoid a 100K loss.
I set the 100% corrupt cities on temple after aqueduct for this reason. We should start putting universities in the low corruption, high population cities. This will help research and culture.

I am thinking we will be able to break out in the south with the large number of armies we have. Leaving some to defend and some to rampage should work.
A decent number of the knight and cavalry armies are near more potential towns to raze. I feel I already put some hurt on the Maya. I have the first Portuguese city lined up. I hope the nearby workers retreat into the city. What is interesting is that some cities with Mayan sounding names are owned by Portugal.

Matt_G hasn't appeared here for quite a while, safe to assume he won't be able to play then. This would mean:

Now if we get a got it from Markh (currently playing). It is already over 24 hours.

Howdy Guys.
I'm back and will be able to play next time up. Moving sucks but the new house is more than worth it. :D
Sorry I didn't get back last Thursday as I said I would in this post. The DSL was hooked up on schedule but I had hardware issues with my computer. Just got it sorted today.

I'll give him until the end of the evening here, then I'll grab it and play tomorrow.

agree , Bugsy, this game has been idling for too long, that's always the death of a SG

I got it, sorry for late reply. Will get to it tomorrow.
He already has it Bugsy.
This was posted yesterday.

The game will start really becoming slow when we reach rails. At that time, it will usually take more than one playing session to finish even 5 turns. My request is that you keep us up to date on your play. The easiest way is to post the log for the turns you have played so far rather than posting it all at once at the end.

I would like to keep the total amount of time that any one player plays to a maximum of a week from the time the last player played (or asked for a swap) and average of 3-4 days. This could be 5 to 10 turns depending on personal preference and time.

BTW, no game I have played in has died - even when it dropped down to me and one other player, we still played it to the end (We did pick up a third) - I like to complete games. With this team, the game is very unlikely to die. I do agree that it has been a bit long since we had a turn. Hopefully Mark will post something soon. :)

I have played three turns upto now. Too much work. :( Will try to finish at least 5 tonight.

agree with Greebley. It would be nice if the person who plays, updates the rest of us daily, so we can also give input. That way, it's easier to follow and make decisions. And include many screenies, much nicer that way.

I was looking at the game, and I was thinking it would be a good idea to attack and destroy Arabia. They are isolated and almost certainly backward - perhaps with only spear as defenders. We could probably take over their entire continent with a Cav Army and a few defenders and Cav. We can keep their cities and just destroy their civ entirely.

Using our next army to form a 3 Cav (4 after landing) army would be sufficient to take them out I suspect. The army could then stay on the continent and defend vs any landings. We gain a large bunch of scientists to help with research.

It also gives us a valuable 4th lux and deprives it from the AI's

A short update. Will finish my turnset in the evening when I am back home. We have two new cavalry-armies in the south. The Germans and Portuguese seem to be at war with another one as after my second turn they removed all their forces from us and they headed westwards. At the moment Babylonian forces are streaming in and some Mayan, so it is a little more quiet in the south.

since we won't win by domination that easily, why don't we send armies to the big continent as well. Take out cities and found replacements on our home continent. I expect things to really speed up once we have rails.

Agree with Arabia and that 5th lux

Well don't forget we still have a lot of missing contacts. Until such time the railnet is completed, I don't want to hit that area.

I agree Arabia is the first target *after* we get control of the homeland. I was already thinking of them next. Send one settler to raze a city for a safe beachhead, and capture the rest. If we push too due this early, I at least want a decent rail-net.

Some of the really small islands with 3 and 4 cities should just be razed to let us build more at home. These could be some of our early targets. After all, any razed AI city helps us.
